Starting a niche site, should I go for it?

hello mates
I wonder if I should start my own niche site, like a blog.
I can write about softwares etc and rewrite articles, but I'm not sure I will be able to make money from it.
In the past I had an Adsense site that made me around 50$ a day but I didn't followed their rules so they make my site unavailable for adsense.
To make 1k$/month, I actualy need 1,000,000 PV per month, with RPM of 1$.
That means I need 100 articles with 10k PV a month each(300 a day). is it even possible?

It is possible for sure, but for first months it will probably be hard as hell, 3-4 articles a day with getting no money
1k month is 33$ a day, 4 articles are 24$


Even though it's great source of income if you really get visitors because that blog will stick for years if you work on it

What you mean by 4 articles are 24$?
And I dont really know how to get traffic and all this stuff, thats why I'm in this dilemma.
 
Head on over to this side of the forum. They have everything you need to know about making money through blogging, getting traffic, etc.

I mean, it's a hard work, and if you start it, it will be harder everyday. Just imagine! It's not a one-day-job. Looks like a journalist work. Are you sure you can endure that?

You're right, but I dont even care to write 1000 articles if I will earn money for sure.
How can I tell that after this 100 articles, only few will make me money, and the others just stay in the site with no viewers.Thats my only problem with niche site.
 
Yes absolutely, you can make as much as you'll need but sometimes it will make you feel like you're going crazy haha
 
Well, since middle of August, i've written/re-written around 1200 articles of 150 - 300 words each. It is a DAUNTING task and sometimes you simply want to throw that keyboard away.

The reward is - authority, traffic and ultimately, money! Some articles get 1,6k views/day some get a hundreds and others dont get much at all! At this point i dont have any adsense or other monetization on the site - trying to get Google News approved!

Bottom line: Doable - but extremely difficult!

This is a genuine question: how do 150-300 word articles make you an authority? Thought authority content was 600-3k words

The length of text Myth is just that - a myth! I know some people might jump on my throat for this, but it seems only Internet Marketers that try to build thin sites believe this theory! After all they pick narrow niches and there might actually not be enough to talk about. Where as if you have a broad niche you can post daily short text that simply works!

If you get out of IM niche, you see that there are a HUGE number of sites that post daily articles (i call them updates) of about 200 words. And the best part is - they get picked up in news JUST like humongous 1000-2000 word articles from other sites.

Ultimately, Google doesn't care how long one article is: they care about it being original, multiple weekly/daily posts and less commercial intent.

If you ask me how i know - the sources from where i get my inspiration do exactly what i said above! And they are authority sites listed in Google/Bing.Yahoo news.

Makes sense seeing as sites like Buzzfeed and Celebuzz post massive amounts of very small articles. Is your content time sensitive? I imagine most news sites are

In my opinion, Authority content should not be judged by them number of words but the position of the site in the industry on which the content is posted. eg a very short article on CNN would be regarded an authority content not based on content itself but on the strength of the site.
 
Start with searching low competitive keywords with at least 100 monthly searches.
 
I don't want to demotivated you, its hard but possible. Make your mind set. Every thing should be in right way.

I wouldn't bother with anything other than multiple sites mns style. You can target keywords that do receive some traffic monthly but are easier to rank for than harder traffic keywords. The big money per day is a lie until you become an authority people trust.
