Starting a new page and seeing the lack of growth is disappointing. what trends are effective at the moments?

It's new so there's that, but NOT posting outbound links seems to be a plus. You should also join related groups to your niche and make posts using the page. If you do it regular enough, and post engaging content, you should see results in a few weeks
 
It is advise to copy other new grow pages with the content upload from scratch to emulate from the growth source and improve for residual traffics with upload content for traffics.
 
Quick path to any kind of reach is Reels. the platform is doubling down on them. You can try a content mix of about half Reels for discovery, balanced with feed posts. join some related groups, genuinely engaging, and then maybe collabing with their admins to cross-promote your page.
