Starting a model member site

Hi,

I have a model who I would like to start a paid member site with. I am experienced in HTML, Flash and Wordpress. I have done some research and will go with ccbill or ticketsclub/verotel for payment processing.

Do I need an adult CMS solution (such as elevated x)? If I am just going to be adding 2 galleries a week is this neccesary?

I assume ccbill automatically password protects specified html pages and generates passes for paid members? I want to be able to just upload images and html pages via ftp and for them to be automatically protected by my payment processor.

So, my plan is --> design site in html (including tour and signup/members links), sign up with a payment processor, promote.

Am I missing something?

It is not that easy. CcBill just provides a way to pay and update your htpasswd file. You will need to secure your website by yourself. It would be advisable to purchase a brute force protection script like Strongbox to keep out password sharers and block brute force attacks. You should also monitor new sign ups for credit card fraud to keep your chargebacks within reasonable parameters. Running a paysite is very maintenance intensive.

As cms you can go with b2evo, joomla or Wordpress to schedule updates.

www.s2member.com it has all the features you need for a membership site, the best script out there for wordpress and I'm pretty sure also has ccbill api integrated.

You are planning backwards.

You are thinking about the software and payments without thinking about the product you are selling.

Start with the product.

Then think how you will sell it.

Then figure out the mechanism (membership software) that you will use.

Running such a site with only one product to sell is difficult, to say the least.

If you get into the "sex business" you deal with every rip off artist trying to steal you product.

If you get into the model membership business, then you have multiple models that supply membership fees.

Then you are "legit" and you can sell their products (photos, etc), as well as a magazine (headshot book),
job classifieds, photo shoots where you charge admission, model conferences for all the new customers,
video training products for the up and coming Rebecca Black wannabe's as well as becoming a modeling agency
and collecting 15% of their gross income for placement as well as fees for managing their careers.

See the difference.

The 1st one you deal with cheap perverts.

The 2nd one you deal with rich businessmen and drive a BMW

What about traffic sources, do you have any setup yet?

How are you paying the model? Percentage or fixed fee?

If percentage is she going to be interacting on the paysite? My advice is to pay a fixed amount for a set amount of photos and video, also I'd recommend giving her a decent camera phone and let her take all the photos and videos and then you can choose the best of the stuff to use.

Also what is your budget for content and setting up the site?
