Hey BHW folks,
I’ve got $5,000 set aside to start some kind of online business or side gig. I’m not chasing overnight millions—know full well that anything worth doing takes time, grind, and probably a few screw-ups along the way. I’m fairly new to this game but ready to put in the work and learn as I go. Just need a nudge in the right direction on where to put this cash.
I’ve seen people talk about SMM panels, dropshipping, niche sites, or even flipping services here. With $5K, I’m hoping there’s something solid I can kick off—maybe a small investment that can scale or a proven method that doesn’t burn out fast. Open to ideas that match the budget and don’t need me to be an expert day one (though I’ll figure it out if it’s worth it). If you’ve got experience with a play that’s worked—or even a cheap asset I could pick up and run with—I’d love to hear it. Ideally something with manageable risk and a clear first step.
Appreciate any real-world advice. Looking to build something legit, even if it starts modest.

That sounds more like a JV if not then it's hard for anyone to tell you what to do.

You go for what you're already at least knowledgeable on or passionate about then go full scale.

Everything has pros and cons.

What do you like? From the few things that you mentioned like dropshipping, have you researched them? Have any interest you? Maybe it doesn't have to be online, it could be some type of cleaning, delivery. Check out the Upflip podcast on youtube.

Consider starting a niche affiliate website or a print-on-demand store, both of which have low startup costs and scalable potential with your $5K investment.

AI is the buzz right now, lots of free content online about making money with ai like building ai agents and sell them to businesses.
