Starting a Groupon clone site.

Hello Everyone, I am from Singapore.

I plan to start a daily deals site in Singapore as soon as possible and I really appreciate you guys can help me by giving me some advices.

1. What is the best script to use currently to start such a site?
2. What is the cheapest script I can use?
3. I know nothing about customisation, so should I let the script provider to do everything for me? E.g. logo design, banner design etc.
4. Anybody knows how many members should I have minimum to start looking for deals in SINGAPORE?

If you believe in your project, back it financially and do it correctly. Get it programmed from the ground up how you envision it. If you need investors, go out and get them (depending on what you envision, I wouldn't mind being a prospective investor). I wouldn't use a pre-made script, unless you can pay a developer to customize it so it can be fully and easily scalable and suitable for your needs.

Try to secure some deals first. Go around and explain to vendors and manufacturers that you're starting a program similar to Groupon and you're looking for initial offers to provide and attract members. Give them an incentive that would want them to be the first involved.

Make sure you have the site up, functional, and ready for promotion.

E-mail some beta testing accounts to Singaporian media outlets so they can test, and then try to arrange a press release w/ them. You need to have offers on-site already, so that when you start promo members will join to get the deals, and then you just repeat the process. At some point you could probably stop soliciting companies to offer deals on your site, they'll just come to you. Doesn't hurt to be proactive though.

i suggest to put your daily site there where customers are - on facebook, using zibaba (google it) social daily deal store ; you can run unlimited daily deals straight from your fanpage
