I did not know about AMR as I was completely whitehat and organic then. I am even now though testing out parallel campaigns once in a while in GH/BH/WH mixed especially for IM and affiliates which I have never been successful. I used to wonder WTF and HTF several hundred articles used to submitted every day. And that was when I discovered AMR. LOL
TIP! Best when building never to put links on FORUMS let G see you are serious with quality original content then the G robots will start indexing you all the time. When established back links will come in virally, then you can link almost anywhere as the resource is established including forums but first you need to get G robots behind you indexing away! GOOD LUCK
Done that too. It is not about good in the eyes of Google and I have never been bad with that. The problem is that you CANNOT MODERATE MANUALLY over 200-300 posts and more importantly your server would be screwed by AMR bashing. The other day I tried another AMR blast and saw that nearly 90% of WP sites were showing "not accepting articles". So, there must be some reason why they stop.

I used wordpress article directory plugin for all. I tried adsense and also an article submitter affiliate. None worked as they are mainly bots from AMR and rest are people who user other directory software which again are semi-automated. Even in the best case the people use Roboform and quickly submit and leave. Nobody cares about the ads to be honest because their MOTIVE is not for ads. So, they simply go for a waste. There was good amount of indexing as it was SOMEWHAT moderated though not completely. At least I deleted all posts containing porn, viagra, pharmacy etc. in bulk during mass approval time. It was still moderated directories to some extent as I had kept manual approval and they were somewhat quality by AMR standards. But even after indexing they did not receive Google SE traffic easily except a dozen or two as those were still mostly duplicate or spun content. Alexa ranks used to fly and maybe it was nearing 100K or so in most of them. LOL. The bots seemed to effect the alexa a lot and that was never a problem. Due to the awstats and alexa rank, they got sold quite ok. Two sold for $300 or so and one for 200 I suppose. I don't remember properly and it might be vice versa too where one sold for 300 and two for 200. But they sold of well as they had more than 50K articles and my good enough sales pitches. One was PR 2 or PR 3 perhaps (I forgot for sure), one had grown to PR 1 till I sold off and one was PR 0. The only way those can work is if you make it subscription basis with SOMEWHAT unique content and readable content. If you leave it open then everyone would make AMR blasts all throughout the day and screw up your servers or the hosting accounts if you use one. Then you would need different IPs for diversity and I hosted the three on 3 different hosting accounts for different IPs. The costs of maintaining are quite high if you allow AMR spam. But subscription might be a good way as maintenance and well as affordability would be quite good. Most importantly, the content must be useful for others in order to have good SE indexing and traffic. You need to maintain the quality to make sure it is a quality site in the long run. A subscription service might also be a good way as that would help in maintenance costs too. And honestly speaking, block AMR somehow from accessing. Otherwise even if you close submissions, still they will bam your servers all the time and screw your server. LOL. Hope that helps.
Cannot disagree. That sounds a lot better idea. As mentioned earlier, quality is what is more important than quantity. Even if there are a hundred quality posts, it will work out far better than a website with a million duplicate posts.
Your idea will work out if you find the customer base. To be honest, even free article directories such as ArticleDashboard have changed to paid structure recently after they were also spammed by AMR. And more and more directories are following the same pattern. But even if you do so, try to make it quality articles (spun article might be ok too if they are sufficiently unique and fully readable) or it would again be a content farm.
That is what most people did. I did not intend to start the directories for that purpose but I also went that way and did not make bad profit. However, the new owners also got pissed off and sold them off to some more newbies who only looked for traffic and not revenue generation.
You would need to convince people to pay. Honestly speaking, not a lot of people are convinced about paying for article directories even high quality article directories. I see quality article directories charging as low as $9 lifetime for unlimited articles yet people do not pay them.
So, you need to convince them about the quality, indexing, effectiveness and you would probably need to inform that you would be posting the articles manually after check to maintain the quality. Otherwise if you allow auto posting then they would again turn into content farms without any effectiveness.
