Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone was willing to share a piece of the cake regarding MLM businesses (health niche). I have actually tried to go about it just like any other affiliate products, and I got many leads, plus this company gives 20% commissions, so that's not too bad... however, when it comes to enroll people, that's another story...

Now what is the best way to build a downline fast. I guess going after people who already have a downline with another company would be great, but how to find them. For your info, I'm getting my leads from facebook, and I am trying Instagram right now.

In the UK MLM or to give it the correct name pyramid selling is illegal, only the top tiers ever earn so not really worth it

I never got the whole join an MLM trend, when its relatively not expense to create one if you go the route of Private Label which many tend to do. The products for existing ones are so hard to actually sell, why would someone pay $5 for energy drink when there is a similar one at the local store for $2, the only people that end up buying products are the ones that join the company. Some of them also have restrictions on how and where you can sell the product such as in a retail store.

Stay away from MLM/Network Marketing it will be a drain on your finances and cause you to lose friends and family.
It is a huge waste of time, and only 2% of the people involved will make any real money.
Your time will be better spent reading BHW until something attracts your attention.
Look on BHW and try the Affiliate Marketing Section if you have no product of your own to sell.
Almost anything else will be better than MLM.

Thanks for the advice guys , I did manage to stay away from them so far, thing is with this one, I tried the product before knowing it was related with MLM, I thought it was just a normal product bought from the store. It's only after I found out it was from an MLM company that I decided to look up the company and join. I might keep buying the product for my personal use, even though I'll give you that, they're not really cheap. But until I find another one cheaper, as good as this one, I'll get it. So even if I'm not recruiting, I'll probably try to make these 20% sale commissions. But, really! I thought there were at least a few Mlmers around here

That is actually the only resaon to promote a MLM product, a product that you have tried and can confirm works.
If your company doesn't offer any training programs then join something like Amway (don't spend any money just go to meetings and get your sponsor to train you), then transfer the training to your other product.
Again, I don't suggest you get heavily involved with this but if the product does meet a need then there may be a market and it might be worthwhile pursuing in the short term at least.
 
One thing I've never understood about Multi Level Marketing is the vast desire to meet up and present their slideshow.

If I was doing it I would create a LP with an email opt-in, complete with a video explaining the potential income "viewer" could make, a membership area so that all of the guys underneath me could collab, and extensive training videos.

Why do they shoot so hard to meet up in person when they could reach so many users online?

I've been around the MLM track and hit the closed tab button face to face five times now with a simple no thank you. Your points valid but I still think that you could do a LOT more damage if you had traffic

I think you're pretty intelligent: just out of curiosity, how would you go about it?

If I had a gun to my head and I had to make as much through an MLM as possible, I'd probably do exactly what you outlined above.

But my fiery hatred for all things pyramid-ish keeps me from doing that.
 
Almost the majority of people who get into MLM will never make money. The people at the top or the ones who got in really early will be making the big bucks.

It's like joining a cult. You don't get someone to join a cult by emailing them. You get them by physically isolating them and giving them the hard sell so that the hard sell is 100% of what they hear and they are not exposed to anything that can potentially distract from the hard sell.

Haha, I pulled the 2% straight out of my arse, figured it would be ridiculously low, didn't think that low though.
 
The only MLM worth joining (given the above observations) is 1) one whose product works and is priced the same as its competitors on the retail market, and 2) a company that does not require a fee to join or monthly fee to participate. Add an extra star if it is web-friendly, and provides an e-comm affiliate web page to conduct online sales or recruiting.

Most MLM companies won't do that precisely because they do NOT support any passive marketing. These are direct sales outfits that mainly want to suck money out of their sales force, and use them to 'nag and drag' their friends and relations over to a high pressure sales presentation to get actively worked in person by one of their closers.

But there are network marketing opps that do operate more like affiliate programs, and don't soak their reps with fees or cult brainwashing. Those are the ones to explore, if going in this direction. If you find such a free-to-join and basically free to market company, build a frontline (first level) about 100-200 wide, as the odds are higher in that case that some fraction of that will be active enough to do likewise, and thus build a viable organization.

Keep away from MLM most of money comes from recruiting people into the program.

Technically the people who get paid (which is the metric the MLM's themselves like to use) is more, like 10-20%, but that's before subtracting what you spend. If you do a % of people who join who make minimum wage AFTER the products and memberships you have to buy, paying for courses and seminars, etc., it's quite low.

IIRC there was a MLM where a bunch of people were getting paid $10K+ a year, but to make that level you had to move like $50K/mo worth of products in your downline or had to buy $800/mo of products direct from the company, and something like 88% of people who made that level were direct purchasers.
