Started my new site , but what do i do next?

Ive started my site, cant link to it as im a new(ish) user of BHW but google shreddybrek and it should come up. I also have a youtube channel of the same name. I decided to make the website after starting a Youtube series.

Using SEO Site tools, my Page rank is still a ?

I know I need to start building more content on the site, but what else should I be doing at this point? My plan is to put adsense on it to monetize it, but i've read on BHW that putting adsense on a new site straight away is bad.

Ive verified analytics and webmaster tools to the site. The past 2 days its had 0 visitors. Today I submitted it to a number of free directories.

What else should I be doing at this stage?

make two threads

you need to get your site out there. Get some answers on yahoo answers with your website linked to them. Create back links. Go on blogs and post comments linking to your site.

Be careful with link building. Build only high quality links without anchors, just pure url or brand name. Daily posting in FB, Tw, G+.

keep writing tons of unique content! content is king!

I'll say in advance, I've always been very whitehat and am only just starting to dip into grey/blackhat stuff, so take my words with a grain. I might be a bit too conservative.

I'm weird but, if it's a site you're hoping to keep long term, I would start off making sure the architecture is sound. Make sure everything is properly 301 redirected as necessary, www and non-www URL's are resolved, etc. It's probably not 100% necessary initially since there is lower hanging fruit than that, but I just figure if it's a long term site why not start off on the right foot since most of those things take just minutes.

The simple answer is, put the best quality content on the site that you can, then start linking it in as high quality and relevant of a manner as you can.

As far as link profile, having a varied and well-balanced profile is ideal. Basically, don't just do one thing. You want follow, nofollow, social links (if possible), blog posts, etc. Also, anchor text should be equally variable and not done entirely one way. Have descriptive, naked (raw URL), longtail, non-descriptive (click here), varied keywords (don't always use the same KW, change it up and use semantic terms too), etc. Figure out what's relevant to the material of your site, and what caters to that, which will determine some of the areas you might want to link to.

Personally, I wouldn't focus a whole lot on directories. In the last year or two they have supposedly become of less value. There are still valuable directories out there that are high authority, but if your backlink profile is mostly directories, that's not going to be that great for your site.

In my experience, page rank is not something I would really worry about or put any focus on honestly. According to Google, supposedly it hasn't meant much of anything or been any reliable metric of anything for years. I may simply be too whitehat to know better, but that has been my experience. I've seen some wildly random PR's before which didn't really match up with Page/Domain Authorities. If it were me, I would look more to Page and Domain Authority. Use Opensiteexplorer and a quick scan will show you if that link source you just found is really worthwhile or not.

You need alot more of SEO education, research, and investments to be among SEO people. Start up is a start!.. Got your site up, but did you research for keywords with low competition to rank the keywords yet? Next, write 3-5 articles with 300-500 words of relevant and unique contents to post on your website. Make sure you Bold & italicize your kw then put them in the right places throughout your articles. Man, there's alot more has to be done. My friends.... keep in touch!

Build links, put fresh and good quality content on it and target certain keywords. Rinse and repeat. Make sure your link structure is good and it doesn't look too spammy.

I know that as of now i dont have a great deal of content on there, but I do have some good pages on my teenage bodybuilding section, along with youtube videos to go along with them (i link to my site from youtube video descriptions) but im getting 0 traffic a day the past few days to the site. Should i be concerned at this stage? Id have thought id be getting at least 1 person a day to the site.

spread the website on yahoo answers, I have a similar niche and I also get very little traffic. I guess my website needs to be a little older to get some more traffic

Yup, if you haven't started, read more on SEO first. Make sure your site is easy for spiders to crawl. Once it's done, content!
