Start Having Some Respect For People!

can you explain this further because that seems to me that if a question or post has been done before then the rules state it cant be done again - is this correct?

I'm been a member of this forum for a longish time now and literally spent the first few months just reading and implementing what I had learned.
Yes, perhaps some of the established members could be a little more constructive in their replies but equally, it is so frustrating when new members continually ask the most basic of questions that could probably be answered by a Google search, let alone a BHW search.
There appears to be a prevailing mentality of wanting to be spoon fed and not realising that there is no magic secret solution to making money online and that actually, you do have to put in some hard graft to get these methods up and running.
Perhaps there should be a restriction on when new members are actually allowed to start their own thread?

I really suspect you are a troll - use the rules link at the top of the forum and read the rules yourself. You should have done this before making your first post.
Specifically 3.3 - 'Asking how to make $xxx/day'

just read through the forum for a little bit first. and if you have a question do a couple of searches first. If your asking a specific question in a thread that it is pertinent, you will probably get some decent help.
Just try not to ask general questions that show you haven't really tried to research it. And remember what forum your on, there are better places to learn basic html or computer skills. Just try to do a little searching on your own before asking your question. And definately don't start a thread over things like that.
If you actually do read through the existing threads for a few weeks, you will have a much better idea of what to ask. Mostly you won't get flamed, even for a stupid question, if it seems as though you've made some effort to learn things on your own as well.
Just use some common sense. Instead of immediately hitting the new post button, try making a note of the question. Then keep reading through the threads, do a few searches. If after a few days it still doesn't make sense then maybe ask the question.

That would be a good idea except that every newbie member isn't a noob. Many people that sign up might have years of computer experience, internet experience, and marketing experience. These people already know how to participate in forums, they may have much experience in many of the methods being discussed, and may even have new methods that haven't been posted here at all. Do you want to limit there ability to contribute.
No I think its better to let newbie members post if they have something of value to contribute.
Somehow the noobs just need to learn that asking how to make money isn't a contribution. They need to learn to spend some time lurking in the forum, acting like a sponge soaking up whatever they can, and the ask their questions after they've taken some time to learn at least some basic ideas.

Totally agree - there have been some GREAT new members recently, and indeed even some of the newcommers to IM have been making very detailed posts.
No one is against newbies, nothing could be further from the truth.
What we dont like is:

I've been a victim of flaming in this very forum, by a nameless
coward because he thought I was referring to him in one of my
posts, and he misunderstood my point anyway. A long story,
and I won't bore you with the details. This then went onto
other sites and forums. This stopped me from contributing for
a very long time. It only was fairly recently that I was
encouraged to give BHW another stab.
But even then, I had my rep demoted for some reason. I have
no idea why, or by who. Again, I've stopped posting, and I think
why bother?
People are ripping my stuff on here, and yet if somebody was
really broke, I would have gladly given them a copy to get them
started. And they would have got support from me. I could go
on about the negative sides of this stealing but I suspect that
this will strike a raw nerve or two, again, leading to flaming.
I vary rarely swear in print, but this kinda thing pisses me off,
and seriously stops me from answering questions. I know that
some of the OP's have downloaded one or more of my products.
At the end of the day, my answer could be worth way more
than the sales price, and I bite my tongue. I very rarely ask
questions in any forum, but love to contribute to them.

Don't disagree with you guys...but there have also been some rather naive posts eg. How you can scam adsense by clicking your own ads!! (Ok, extreme example I accept, but you get my drift?)
I guess the only solution is one of moderation/reporting to stop these threads cluttering up the forum. Perhaps the welcome message to new members could be updated instead...if it hasn't already been done.

@biys01 - You don't get it. You are right they aren't badgering just one person. They are badgering every member of the forum that is looking through the threads. In the voicemail example I gave you, instead of just one guy having to sort through all of those pointless messages, all the members are in effect using that same voicemail.Perfectly legit answer, But, The "n00b Retards" of which I am one dont do that they may well ask a question thats been asked 5,000,000 times but they dont i'm sure badger just one person as in your example, you have to remember that most of the "n00b Retard" questions that are asked, to the Newbie is a valid and legit question, to simply flame them because you have seen that question asked before imho is "rude" and i'm suprised anyone acting in this manner makes anything of themselves, except enemies, anyway just my opinion does this now make me a non "n00b"
And the only users capable of deleting those messages are the mods, but it takes them awhile to get them deleted because it isn't just one guy leaving those messages, there are many. And as long as they are there, more new people see the title and think oh great I should ask how to make money too. If the mods can't keep up with the noobs then pretty soon those are the only messages that you can find and the forum has lost its value.
This forum itself is the answer to "How Do I Make Money". You don't need to ask the question, you already found the answer, now just start reading.

Yes - I have found myself equally cautious/reluctant about files posted here on bhw due to all the infected files. It's simple enough to know that something on the DNS list probably isn't a good idea fo download, but someone is using Social Engineering 101 to play on people's greed and desire for free stuff.
As far as hacked accounts and bans, I share your concern and reiterate my advice from one of the earlier outbreaks - change your bhw password early and often. Mix it up - use a mix of upper- and lower-case alpha chars plus digits plus any special chars allowed.
There are some great password management apps out there - KeePass is my personal fave - it can generate very strong pwds and remember them for you.
And it's not just downloads - I saw one of the posts zen is referring to - link to a supposed survey for supposed access to a cracked DNS app, posted by a "veteran", and that link could have actually been to something worse. Thanks for nailing that one, zen. I remember not too long ago when someone posted an obfuscated link to a browser hijack (hurr-durr dog bullshit) that cost me and several other members a few hours worth of work when it locked up our PC's.
Let's be careful out there.
I also suspect I am a Troll - but the "Specifically 3.3 - 'Asking how to make $xxx/day" had nothing to do with my question, after reading the rules again my question has been answered and there is no where in there that states a question or posting can not be made more than once

Okay, all kidding aside, on category 3 you could not be more innacurate, Racism, homophobia, hate based on gender, creed, or other personal background, ethnic intolerance and the like are not only explicitly against the rules, they are subject to takedown immediately. I know - firsthand - I was once flamed as the "gay lover" of another bhw member or some garbage like that once. No skin off my nose, but the post was reported and the poster was nailed. Immediately.
The mods have been great about nailing the malware as quick as humanly possible. They have also come to the defence of individuals of all sorts of "backgrounds" when those areas are brought into play.
And by calling out ESL in category 1 and that little reference to mommies in category 3, IMHO you're walking that line yourself.
