Web designer, good. What kind of websites do you like to design? Games, travels, something else? Try to specialize in a niche and target specific types of clients, it will give you some direction. Design yourself a nice website & portfolio, have your copy and sales materials written by a pro. Then start looking for prospects & freelance job postings.
