Start a new blog on parenting niche.

Hi fellas, I'm starting a new blog in parenting niche, I've learned all the wordpress things (creating website, hosting, managing the website ..), now when it comes to start creating content, I don't know how, I can write about anything that have something to do with parenting, but I don't know which topic should I start with, there is a lot of long tails keywords, but I don't know which one I should start with? I mean what are the metrics for the LTK ?

Go to chat gpt and ask for say 15 major categories that would cover all aspects of this subject, and then start building your first level of posts covering each aspect in general, and that can be your first wave, then you can start a silo expansion plan, like @splishsplash recommends in his threads, and organise the site better, start to then ask chatgpt for expansions on each subject to another 6 for example categories inside each of the first 15, and also keep an eye out on the similar sites in your niche, and see what they are posting that might help direct your structure and topic, while still building up baselines of posts. 10-20 covering all aspects of one topic avenue will see you bossing it I think.

Don't worry too much about finding the perfect keyword, and write as little as possible and start making big bank cakes. Yeah sounds nice, but its not reality. Your best bet is to be as much an authority of your niche as possible. (this can just be in creating new and more varied content than your competition). For that, you need to cover either a small aspect of the niche only, or if you are going after the general large category, then you'll need to build up your menus and posts and silo structures as you go, as well as your internal linking which will have google drooling at the mouth, once you start linking between your pages, and your visitors will love it. It works for Wikipedia.

Your best keyword data comes from having a site up, and seeing how it ranks for the articles you have after the period of time you have the site. There is no substitute for this metric.

Parenting is very broad. Have you thought about niching down?

As examples there Montessori or gentle parenting or parenting for a set demographic.

Once you have this you can look at the subjects and topics involved. Montessori play, homeschooling and Montessori at different ages. Benefits and criticism of Montessori.

Map out your site as a silo like mentioned above. Then decide what pillar posts supporting posts and question posts you are going to have in each silo.

The create the boring pages like author pages and everything you need for EEAT.

Then wrote the pillar post for each silo

With that done start at the bottom and build up. Q and A style posts are quick and easy to do.

I can try.

To start with you need a smaller focus for the website - parenting is too big of a subject and with far to much established competition. Sorry to be blunt but you won’t rank.

The focus for this imaginary site is going to Montessori. Montessori is a philosophy of parenting.

So now I have my focus it’s time to do some homework. Now I want my websites to make money so that’s where I start. I want to see if there are things for sale relating to Montessori. This can be books courses and in this case toys. I also want a broad spectrum of prices.

Check Amazon, google shopping.look for Montessori affiliate. If we have a passionate market which spends money we are good to go.

The next task is to research it and see what the key ideas are. So again google away and research the method of Montessori.

As you research you start to see connections in the principles and can start to build a mind map of the subject.

What is Montessori
Who created Montessori
What are the benefits of it
How to do it at home
How does it differ from normal education.

These will ultimately become the catergories of your website.

I would suspect you would end up with categories of Aboit Benefits. How to.

These are going to be at the top of three different silos.

Under each one you need to plan out the content of the next layer down

So under for example how to you would have smaller categories of play. Read. Lesson plans. Curriculum.

And under each of these you have articles or more sun catergories.

What you have here is the skeleton of your site. It’s time to do more research. Look at keywords, paa related searches. Create a list.

Now with this list you are going to take the ones that are related to each other and place them into the relevant silo you created. This will help you to decide what articles to write. As a new site I would recommend you start low and build up.

A great place to start is to just answer questions.

It's extremely difficult to rank parenting keywords. No matter where and how you start. Now you know so plan accordingly.

I'm not going to start from a large niche obviously, I'm going to start from a little specific subniche and do the silos method as @Panther28 said. Good right ?

You can check how your competitors use keywords/topics for their content. As you mentioned starting with a sub-niche is a great idea, later you can focus on more.!

ahref is expensive little bit

Parenting is a very unique niche for blogging. if you dpn;t know which topic you should start article writing then you need to first use ahrefs or chat gpt for find some article title. when you find the title then go to google and check the competition of your title. If the competition not high then its mean it is a best title for your site.

Analyze your competitors websites and see how they organized their content.

By using CHatGPT you can find excellent topic about your niche..
