OMG, this looks like it will be the best one yet. Since they are using real props more and using CGI more effectly than they did in the past 3 movies. The only thing that they have messed up is that they decided to go with 35mm film instead of recording in 8K.

Looks sweet! Not really keen on the new lightsaber, though. Would think you'd chop your own hands off twirling it about with those bits on the side, lol.

Yeah, I'm also not that happy about that lightsaber, never saw something like that before. Although, as soon as the music kicked in, I didn't mind anymore :D. Can't wait for that movie!

There is all kinds of crazy lightsabers and other things in the novels and comic books.
 
More than excited for this. Shouldn't be that hard to make it better than the last 3...

I also don't see the practicality in the lightsaber. Looks kinda cool though.
 
something to look forward to, hopefully better than the sea of crap movies that have been out lately

The last 3 they focused way to much on CGI, when the software and hardware weren't very good compared to what can be done today.
 
It looks decent.. lightsaber ruined it for me..
 
I don't see why there is controversy over the light saber. Yeah, the handle doesn't make sense, but then, the whole concept of the light saber never made sense. It couldn't be a laser or other light based sword, as the light stream would extend out without limits. It can't be a plasma sword, as there is no container mechanism evident in the weapon to give it the shape it has. So just revel in the return of/resumption of the storyline, the effects are senseless then and now.
 
I just want to see how it'll be directed; hopefully JJ Abrams follows in the footsteps of ep. IV, V, and VI

I don't care what people say about the lightsaber. As a fan of the medieval era, that looks pretty darn cool. The double hilt part is to protect the wielder from getting his/her hand cut off by another lightsaber. AND NO. The wielder's hand doesn't get cut off because there's a safe guard at the end. It's a dark shot, so it's kinda hard to see. It would've saved Luke, Vader, Mace Windu, and Anakin, from getting their hands cut off. Complain all you want, but in the end, it's a pretty useful part that can help save/end lives.

Looks great, though I just hope they haven't gone too overboard on the CGI.
