Standing Desk - Yay or nay - Good or bad?

I am a retired 911 dispatcher.

We worked 12 hour days, then 12 hour nights.

We had the standing desks and they were AMAZING for staying awake. Sitting in a chair for that long is bound to know you the hell out!

That was the only instance I've ever used them - and it was mainly to stay awake above all else.

As someone that have been using it for awhile, Standing desk + underdesk treadmill is better than just using standing desk.

I do agree, if you stand for too long, it ain't good for your joint / knee / ankles neither, you need to move .

The best for your body is laying down. If you lay down for 8 hours a day, nothing hurts. Extend that time to 24 hours a day, still nothing hurts.
If you sit or stand for 24 hours, you're in pure pain. :)

Our culture has taught us to stand or sit all day long. But that's not really necessary.
Lay down.

Saw that study. From my experience, it's not about just standing all day, it's about variety. I use one, but I switch between sitting and standing regularly throughout the day. The main point is avoiding any single position for too long. Keep moving, take short breaks, that's where the real benefit comes in. Don't just stand there like a statue.
