When ETH spiraled down during a bear market, I held too long, convinced it would bounce back. Watching my portfolio shrink was a painful lesson in stubbornness.

Later, I shifted into stablecoins during downturns. The difference was night and day preserved capital and had the chance to buy when the market turned. Bear markets taught me that survival is more important than pride.Do you protect in downturns or ride them all the way down?

That’s a powerful lesson, and I totally get it. The emotional toll of watching your portfolio shrink while trying to hold on is brutal. Shifting into stablecoins sounds like a smart strategy to protect capital during those times it’s like being able to step out of the chaos and watch for the right moment to re-enter.

For me, I think I’d go for a hybrid approach, maybe protect some of it during a downturn, but also leave a little to ride the waves. It can be tempting to go all in one way or the other, but I like the idea of having a little capital in each camp, so you’re prepared for whatever the market does.

Do you usually wait for a certain signal or just go with your gut when shifting out of more volatile assets?

Either be at the top or fall below the threshold. Everyone chooses for themselves, of course. But in any case, it's a waste of money for me.
