No, its acutally you have to install SSL from same hosting provider, you cant use SSL from some other provider while hosting is on some other server.
 
No... I think you will need to continue with SSL.

When you change from http to https all the indexed links on Google change to https gradually. The reverse of this process is not smooth!
 
btw.. you hosting on shared hosting or VPS and have access root ?
if you on shared, better move to VPS like Digitlocean..
and you can use letsencrypt for free ssl..
other solution is using cloudflare to get free ssl in cost will increase page load..
 
Change your web hosting service man. SSL certs are free these days and there are formats for all servers. Whoever is hosting your site is BS'ing you.
 
Odds are at this price, that your SSL is an EV (extended validation) SSL which are indeed expensive but increase trust.
That being said, your provider may provide you a cheaper SSL.

You may also request them to install a letsencrypt SSL.
If you have a VPS with root access, add me on skype I'll have one installed for you for free (letsencrypt) in a couple of minutes.

I believe yyou'll loose SEO juice, because google might not bbe able to crawl your website from a https:// link since it will return a self signed certificate error (which is a browser type of error) but it may discount your links regardless.
Your website will re evaluated as well since now you'll be indexed as http://

SSL is now a SEO ranking factor so it is shame to not use one (especially now it is free)
 
@HostStage thanks for the offer, I am on iPage hosting provider and I beleieve its Shared Hosting - any solution, surely I can give you access to my FTP or Server if you can help me out.

@HostStage yes I was using the same Comodo since last 3 years, now after 3 years now they are charging me 205$ for next 2 years - I think the price mentioned on the given link is first time use.
But I cancelled the service. I am not sure I can use it again at lower price.

Replace your SSL with the free product from Let's Encrypt. You have to know what you're doing, but once it's installed, it's free. FYI, this product is run by the Mozilla Foundation, so it's highly reliable.
 
Unless you're ready to move to a new hosting provider, you ought to stick to $31.99 option. You don't want the value of your links turn to nothing overnight, and downgrading to http:// will do just that.

It would be better if you can settledown issue with your hosting provider and they allow you to add third party SSL. Certs from Comodo are not that costlier and especially domain control certificates. Choose your certificate from provider like cheapsslshop.com where domain control certificate will cost only about $15 for three years (USD $5 a year). I think this is better and affordable option then going for HTTP besides it can drop you in search engines.
