Hi,
How important is squidoo lens creation?
How does it help in ranking :D

and what if i create a squidoo lens and blast 10,000 links to it, does it help?

squidoo and other web 2.0's are good for blasting. you link your money site to the web 2.0's and then blast the web 2.0's with scrapebox, xrumer etc.

Squidoo is a bitch. Maybe it's me, but I've had close to zero luck with it when I started out. Took me 7 times to get a lense right. But when I did, it ranked #4 for the keyword which isn't that bad.

Anyway, web 2.0 aren't THAT useful unless you can mass produce them. They take a lot of time though.

They also serve as a decent buffer in a Tier structure in my experience.

Anyway, this is NOT black hat seo related! Please post in the right section!

Good luck!

Can you just spend some time doing research before asking such 101 question, just use the search bar and there enough information about squidoo here. Just seeing you're been here since 2009, seriously:dunce:

I am sorry
I was in bit of hurry today
I'll use search next time
Thanks guys for the replies
Btw, its blackhat as far as i think because blasting links is a blackhat method IMO :/

As a backlink squidoo can be helpful just like any other web 2.0 property. The main domain is pr 7 which is pretty good.

The drawback is the amount of effort you have to put in to ensure that the lens is considered published. If the lens is not published then any outgoing links are nofollow.

You can't simply create a lens and post a 500 word article with a link and expect to gain any benefit from it. You have to submit an intro photo, have a relative introduction paragraph of a certain length (this is your meta description in google), and have at least 2 or 3 modules.

The benefit is that you can add relevant tags to your lens and this will give you internal links from other lenses in the same niche. This will give you extra juice back to your site.

As raven123 said squidoo lenses can rank pretty good on their own, they can gain decent pr as well.

If your looking to get a quick backlink by pasting a spun article and blasting the hell out of it with xrumer or scrapebox... I would avoid squidoo (and hubpages... they suck). But if your willing to put in some effort, I think squidoo is worth it and would be better served with some decent blog comments and a few web 2.0 links as well.

I believe that Squidoo makes a great buffer site for links. The hoops that they make you jump through make it a more valuable link than others and it is reflected in their ability to rank.

Don't apologize!

I consider squidoo to be a different animal than your typical web 2.0 property and your questions are justified.

@ Donkey Kong... A knowledgeable response to the question before chastising the OP about researching the subject would be more appropriate.

Squidoo is a very good idea. I have used squidoo a lot for this purpose but keep in mind it is a lot more effort and you must make it a great looking manual blog. Not just a spammy one to put spun content on

I have used squidoo and have it pointed to my main site. now the squidoo is also ranking on the first page..

Squidoo can be a bitch. In my experience they seem to be happy to delete your stuff for any reason they see fit. If you are going to use Squidoo, I would recommend using multiple accounts and don't put your lenses all on one account.

I had one account with 6 lenses get deleted. Since then I just put up an initial lens that doesn't have any outbound links and then a few days later a lens that has my link and a link to an authority site.

Even with this approach, some still get deleted.

Lighten up Francis-if it bothered you so much why did you take the time to reply? Move on to something more worth your valuable time.
