I think the common idea is that you make a mini site on your squidoo lens, then backlink to it...the entire idea being that on your lens you link to your money site.
Ok listen here is the way to look at squidoo and other sites like it. They are
1. Miniwebsites. A good squidoo lens or other web2.0 property by itself can have as much authority as any other website.
2. A squidoo lens, or a free wp blog, or blogger, these are all individual people who have decided to talk about you in one way or another. The more people that talk about you on the web wether it be articles, web 2.0, blogs, other sites etc, on forums, these all help tell google you are important.
Don't think of 2000 backlinks as 2000 backlinks. 2000 backlinks means 2000 people have talked about you on the web.

It's recommended to use not only Squidoo but other WEB 2.0 properties too. The good thing about them is that they have authority and the risk that the properties could be sandboxed is very low. More properties pointing to your money site, more power in SERPS.

Use Squidoo..it's not alot of work at all.
You can build a good lens in about 15 minutes

Disc0unts on fiverr did a great job, content is copy pasted but hand spun to make it little unique; but the lens is HUGE, its so long and has a lot of content on it so thats really good. you get your kewyord as a link to your site, he also uses your keyword again throughout the lens.

just ont blow up your squidoo lenses with scrapebox. i did it and it deindexed all my lenses so i guess they dont really count any more ...

if you do it more than once you have a lense -if you have the text ready - in maximum 5 minutes with video and pics and everything. boring but not much work. i would not even hire a guy on fiverr for that because of ordering there takes longer
