Is it necessary to write content if you're building a squidoo page purely for the link juice? Could you just put up like youtube videos, RSS feed, using their modules then put a little blurb with a link to your site (not an affiliate marketing link)? Or will that get you banned?

You have to write a little unique content or squidoo may unpublish your lens, but it does not need to be more than an introduction along with 4 or five of the other type modules you mentioned

Those stupid once banned my whole ip range for 1 month! There was no reason! I made a lot of quality lenses of at least 500 words each! But now its fixed.

Ya they also banned my IP but not my lens since my lens contain some good content but after one day I had no problems.

Your lens will show under construction except that there are no further serious consequences.

Constructing a a Squidoo lens for the sake of one backlink from there (if I have understood you correctly) is a completely inefficient use of your time, IMO.

You should be looking to build quality backlink volume through various techniques discussed elsewhere - not wasting time on one link from Squidoo.

Think hundreds/thousands for link volume, not single links.

Basically search engines loves contents if you write some content in your squidoo lens it will not get you banned.

Squidoo is basically a joke these days. They are very quick to pull the trigger and ban accounts.

Your much better off creating a website on a domain that you actually own.

Build your own business, not someone else's!
