Squidoo Lens generating about $200 weekly - How much is it worth?

Actually, I listed the lens for sale on DP. I came here to seek advice on how much I should sell it for. Then I got someone telling me to prove the earnings here. That's not why I started this thread.

i think the 10 monthly income will be to steep for a squeedo lense and there is work involved. that is the reason you are trying to sell. the most are looking for passiv income not more work.

so the price will be 5 - 8 times monthly revenue i guess.

5 times monthly revenue would be acceptable.

This might be a dumb question, I have seen lenses sold before but is there a way to give permission to one squidoo lense without giving access to the authors whole account? Or are people just creating one lense and selling it?

The most I'd pay for it is $400 and I'm a serious buyer with access to hundreds of thousands of dollars. It's just TOO risky since it's owned by squidoo to be worth anymore than that to me.

$400?? I understand it may be a bit of a risk because you don't own the site but $400 is just 2 weeks of revenue. At that rate, it's definitely not going to be sold.

I would say the least I would take is 3x's the monthly revenue.

And to that my friend I say good luck. You'll have to find a newbie to sell it too. Because someone advanced is not going to risk $2400 for a SQUIDOO page. lol.

EVEN If I felt like BEING NICE, I'd still only give 1 months revenue.

Oh wow, are you serious? I don't feel they're good for anything and I've been a member of both longer than a member here. I think I have a post count in the double digits on both. It's hard to glean anything good off either of those forums IMO.

I told him it's worth a week's revenue based on what he provided. Are you giving him advice or just lecturing those that responded? It seems the latter.

I'm out of here. At least I gave the OP a value and response to his question; I still think this thread is a poor attempt in advertising a highly profitable lens for sale. So you guys have fun...

Well, I was serious and that may only be my opinion.

Right, I was only lecturing. I've no good advice to give.

I never said anything against you or your advice. This could be an attempt to advertise, I agree.

Wow... Op, don't listen to the critiques on here. Some people are just looking to be negative.

Ok, we know you can't sell Squidoo nor can you sell Paypal, but you can certainly sell the Squidoo account (whether it's against their TOS - I have no idea) and just like selling a website, you would train the buyer on how to do what you're doing. It actually would be easier then a traditional website; they don't have to change hosting and set everything up - they'd just have to change the paypal and maybe some other minor details on the site (poss email address...)

As you know, you won't be able to get the 10x monthly income purchase, but I don't see any ethical reason why you couldn't sell what you've got. The question is though, is what you'd get from it worth selling it for and that is something I couldn't even guess at.

Congrats on setting up what you've got and good luck on selling it if that's what you end up doing.

$200 a Week , with income proof , you can expect to raise anything around 1K-1.5K for it

You're probably better off working out a revenue split with someone that would take over the product fulfillment for you rather than selling it. Even at a 50/50 split, you'd get the income from that point forward with no additional stress nor work on your part... but then the question is, would it be worth the time it takes for the other person if you tried to work that out. (aka, how much time does it take the other person to acquire the inventory and fulfill the orders?)

5 times the monthly earnings of a squidoo lense is quite a risky investment for the buyer. Just sayin.

@OP if you want to optimize this thread here is a twist which seems obvious here :p

Hire someone to manage your lense / sales / customers relationship, turn it into a passive income of 30 / 40% of the margin.... It is a no brain / hands situation.

[EDIT]

Even better point of view

Just connect your lens with GAnalytics, wait a week and post here pdf report from GAnalytics Dashboard. It will be adequate proof, imo.

As to "how to sell", Squidoo allows you to transfer the lens to other user. So you don't need to sell your account, as someone mentioned above.

OldSalts method is probably the best idea on here so far. The amount you will get for it in my opinion will not be worth selling it for.

I personally feel that WF and DP are good forums just in a different niche.

I lol'd

No one will pay 10x revenue for a squidoo lens. I suggest you build a website with own TLD then link to your website from the lens. That way you will help the website rank better and grow the website's value.
