I try to add a squidoo lenses in my link cycles but most of the time they get flagged up as spam content and i don't understand why. I have read the rules and guidelines but it doesn't say anything in particular. Some lenses i make make it through but this is more from luck than anything.

What i do:
Intro
500+ word article with 2 links (both below the fold) and a picture
Video

What i have tried:
Removing 1 link so there aren't multiple links to the same domain
Deoptimising lenses thinking that was the problem but that doesn't work either
Adding extra modules

Any tips would be appreciated

What niche is it in? Squidoo are very strict on articles on particular subjects.

Other than that make sure you read and don't breech their squidon'ts

The niche varies depending which site i am pushing at the time

you need to have at least 5 modules to get a nice kick to it
also is important to add the guestpost module
if you have this 2 your lens will be approved

If your lens is not getting through, you might have use words that are in their filter. What I usually do for a niche that is listed in their Squidont is that, I will create a 1 module with around 500 words in it and published it.

Squidoo allow submitting a lens with a single module. If it doesn't get accepted, I'll try to find the words that make the trigger and re-try publishing until it gets accepted. Once it is accepted, I'll go to the next module and submit for update to make sure it's accepted...and I'll go on to the next module until all the modules are completed and published.

I'm doing this so that I can track which module cause Squidoo not to accept publishing and it's easy for me track which particular words or phrases within that module and try to get around with it so it get accepted for publishing.

If you have weight loss or other closely watch niche by Squidoo, it's kinda hard...but you can use synonyms instead of the actual keywords. And, if you have a very informative lens and you think 100% it's not spam, try asking for a greenlight. I've done a few times and Squidoo team greenlighted them for publishing.

Maybe there are repeated words in your article. squidoo is very strict regarding this. here is my step on making a squidoo lens.

My modules;
Text Module
Big Arrow Link
Youtube
Google News
Guestbook

1. Make sure your article is 350 words or higher. proof read your article for repeated words.
2. introduction w/ picture - make sure you do have an intro paragraph (at least 2 or 3). (i sometimes put a link on here)
3. Text Module - introduction and paragraph with picture. (insert your link)
4. add Big arrow link - you can put your anchor text and link it to your url of choice
5. add youtube module - on the module edit it and tick the option (let me select my video or something like that )
6. add google news
7. add guestbook comments
8. select a theme (at the right sidebar)
9. complete your bio/profile and upload a photo
10. add tags (make it more than 5 tags as possible)
11. Publish ( you can see on your progress bar, that you are almost 85-90%) here are samples of my earlier work:
it doesnt include some of the modules that i mentioned above and yet it has been featured along with my other lenses. The main key is your content.

i do hope that this helps. :)
