Everyone knows that the majority of anchors to one's website needs to be the brand name / naked URL.
My question is, how to deal with this if one's site's brand name also happens to be an EMD? Given that we live in a KW over-optimisation world of penalties.
Picture this following scenario...
I am a Florist, who owns a physical retail shop, specializing in Daffodils, since a few years. And the name of my physical store is: "Beautiful Daffodils". With the quality of my lovely daffodils, and my excellent service, I've acquired quite a name for myself, first within the local community, and then later nationwide. Everyone loves the flowers from "Beautiful Daffodils". After a few years, I decide I need to get online to further expand the business. So naturally, in keeping with my brand, I go and buy the domain: beautifuldaffodils.com
It's been a few years since beautifuldaffodils.com was acquired, and haven't done much SEO work with it. In such a scenario, when launching some SEO campaigns for this domain, is it best to have majority of anchors as just the naked URL? Or would Google be okay with "beautiful daffodils" as the main anchor? Or would that cause an over-optimisaton penalty?
This is an important issue for me, so please don't answer if you're guessing. Only those who know what they're talking about are welcome. Thanks.
