Spyder Spanker - Developer is Confusing

I was planning on getting this plugin today and noticed how confusing the developer has made this product for buying.

The homepage only contains the classic version.

In WF he claims "you need to buy the classic version, before you can buy the pro version"

However, if you google it you can find the same site selling the Pro Version and buy it. With no mention of needing the classic version.

On trafficplanet its implied by him and the owner/users you can buy the pro version exclusively and have it without needing the classic version.

To anyone that has bought this plugin, which is it? Do you need the classic version before the pro will work or not? This reminds me of n64 expansion packs all over again.

I was about to start a thread on this issue. Glad to see you brought it up.

I purchased the Classic version yesterday, not paying attention to the fact that there are two different versions: Classic and Pro (my fault, I take responsibility). Once I purchased the Classic version, I was taken the upsell page for the Pro version. I was pissed off to say the least. The sales page, which is for the Classic version, has a video embedded on it, but it's for the Pro version, which is why I was under the assumption that's the version I was getting.

Today I purchased the Pro version, and as far as I can tell, you do not need to have ordered the Classic version first. It doesn't ask for the key or registration # for the Classic version to verify you have it. My guess as to why he says you do is because without purchasing the Classic version, you don't know the url for the Pro version (unless you googled it as you did, but probably most don'tâ€”they'll just google "spyder spanker").

If I were you, I would just get the Pro version. I wrote him an e-mail voicing my displeasure as I wish he would have had the links for both version on the main site, and let the users decide. But he probably calculated that he can get more money doing it this way. I don't know how many forums he has targeted, but since it was a WSO, it's nothing out of the ordinary for this cheap tactic. I really thought my days of being swindled were over. It's like Bring the Fresh all over again :angryfire

Don't get hoodwinked like me, just buy the Pro version.

3rd day in a row searching for the PRO version. If anyone can share the direct purchase link for the PRO version will appreciate it.

do as jangoz suggested or go to site and view its sitemap (ordinary wordpress xml file). You will see much more pages and several of them will lead you to special offers, like discount 30% or 50% (check yourselves).

You do not need to have classic version. I bought the pro version and it works just fine.

From everything I saw, I assumed the classic wasn't needed.

I emailed vendor to ask, and he said you need the classic version first. However, he wrote it in such a sloppy and rushed way, I figured he was lying. Dude just wants more money.

yea you're right. Im just getting sick of tinkering with the .htaccess using different codes that seem to never block everything properly

tbh Im wondering if this plugin is even worth it. Seems like a giant plugin footprint
