Spun content getting indexed

If one thing is clear about SEO to me after all this time, is that people in this game are lazy and incompetent for the most part.
I see sites spending thousands on paid links, to get ranked, and this is the smartest of the crowed generally. You can achieve better results just by creating and maintaining the right scripts/lists etc, and spending 1% as much money on paid links.

Yeah lazy for sure... but some people are smart too.

I explained it in another thread, but tier 2 in my runs are usually 10-15k web 2.0 pages followed by tier 3s of wikis, private blog posts, pliggs etc

how are these 10-15k web 2.o properties linked exactly? are they interlinked along with linking out to tier 1 web 2.o properties? surely you must be using automatic highly spun content if you are churning out such a huge amount of web properties.

He is using automation, but maintain the script for that many sites gets you crazy.
I know, I tried it several times I never accomplished my goal because of different problems. Doing this every day, making sure that scripts run properly and then making other scripts makes you nervous and you get stressed, is a nightmare.

Buy links is a lot less stressful

How many web 2.0s would you recommend creating with 1 highly spun readable article for tier 1?

It depends on what "highly spun readable article" means

I create 2-3 million word spintaxes, by hand, now. They're usually 9-15 mb in size when finished and all hand written sentences/paragraphs blahblah
