Spotify Royaltie Question!

Hey im just wondering how spotify pays royalties, ive read about it but i cant get my head around it.

Is there exact dates?

Do spotify scan 3 months back and pay out from THAT payout date?

If the payout date is 1st january and i have plays in december and november, when does that get paid out?
