Spotify Not Allowing Password Reset

What does it mean that Spotify wont let me reset password on an account? And how are they doing this? I've tried deleting the spotify app (on mac) and cleaning all the library files, but no matter what I try, it wont let me reset the password.

The mac is on a VPN.

Sometimes it wont allow you to change the password becuase they delete the account , I usually recevie a message saying this email is not associated with a Spotify account or something like that
