Spoofing HTTP Header? Hiding IP etc? [HELP]

Hi guys,

Wondering is there any method to spoof/change the HTTP header?

FOR EXAMPLE:

If I go to this website [pgl.yoyo. org/]I get this:

I want to change the IP found in the red box to something else?

if for example I connected to my VPN, the IP would simply be: 210.00.23.11 etc without the .btcentralplus at the end. BT is British telecommunications; a provider here in the UK. I'd like to be able to connect to my VPN, then add in something at the end so as to make it look legit, and not an obvious proxy/vpn IP address.

Does anybody know if this is possible? I would save be a lot of headache if it was!

You can not change the hostname of an IP if you don't own/controll the range.
The hostname that shows up is called reverse DNS and to be able to set that you need to have a delegation to a DNS you controll.

You don't have to control the range. Some hosting companies provide you with a web interface to manage rDns yourself ;)
 
And the ones that don't have a self service rDNS panel will usually change it for you with a support ticket. However the OP says he's using a VPN so he probably doesn't have control of the IPs. I forget people still do IM with shared or leased proxies. One could say rDNS is a valid reason to run your own proxy servers I suppose.

I'm sorry my knowledge on rDNS isn't so great.

I assume there'd be no means through rDNS in putting my proxy/vpn ip in before the .btcentralplus part as I mentioned above?

You're right about not having control over the IP. I'd have to lease private IP's from proxy providers which do not change
 
Correct, if you do not have control (ownership) of the IPs you cannot assign or have assigned an rDNS.

What you are talking about is not in the http headers. It is looked up by querying your ip.
 
Buy a VPS within a company that allows you to change the rDNS, have a domain, point a subdomain of the given domain to your VPS IP, request your Provider to set the rDNS to the given subdomain.

Within the VPS you can either install squid for proxy or OpenVPN for your own VPN then just use it normally with your new hostname showing up like u want on the headers.

This sounds like what I'm after; thank you!

Would it be correct in saying this would result in the HTTP header showing [192.168.1.1.mysubdomainDOTcom]etc. ?
Can it be made so it shows [192.168.1.1.BTCENTRALPLUS] like described above?

Just wondering before I go get a VPS.

I have no connection to these guys, but if all you want to do is change/hide your IP to visit a site and you aren't a big it person who wants to self configure you might want to consider them.

Look up Hide-My-IP in google, it's a pretty nice solution

Yes, if you have domain abc.com, you can create any subdomains within the allowed characters to serve as your rDNS.

So you could make the rDNS i.rock.abc.com for example.
 
So in the HTTP header it would show '192.168.1.1.i.rock.abcDOTcom'

would it be possible to just have '192.168.1.1.i.rock' showing up in the HTTP header?
