You already have 120 posts on 1 blog already. Why do you want to shift to the expired domain?
If you shift to the expired domain then yes, your ranking will go down for a while but if you shift it properly then your ranking will come back.
But still why you don't want to continue with the 1st blog?

it's a waste, show more details about content quality and reputation, maybe someone will be interested and want to buy your domain

From an SEO perspective, it's generally better to continue building on an existing domain with established content and authority. Transitioning to a new domain may involve losing some SEO benefits and requires extra effort to redirect and rebuild authority.

What has prompted you to decide this? You need to provide more details (for example, traffic of the current domain, any issue you are facing with it, ranking keywords, etc.) so that someone can give your correct advice.
Hi guys
The domain I started the blog on is about 12 years old (it was a new domain) and never had any content I only used it for an email adress. In December 2022 I started to fill that domain with content and built up about 120 blog posts with our trip through Africa by road from North to South. It is indexing slowly but not ranking very well in google, only one post ranks for a no competition keyword. In Yahoo it is ranking not bad. At the moment it has Ahref DR 4.5 103 backlinks and 8 refering domains. So I guess something might be wrong with the domain.
When we finished crossing Africa, we decided to stay, changed vehicle and did another 6 years travel through Africa, and now I have published the first 2 years and now I am not sure if I should post the other 6 years on an expired domain. That is the background.
So if I continue it might gain authority on that domain, but with a new expired it might rank better, that is my considerations

The logical thing to do is to continue building your original site, don't let FOMO get in the way, there are no fast rankings these days.

From an SEO perspective, it is better to continue with the same domain name as you have already built up some authority with it.
