Yo - seriously, been around the block enough to know that most of the shit over there is automated, even email communication. The same emails get sent out constantly for example, even with different replies. Besides the point.
The videos getting banned / accounts, are most likely pure idiots frontpaging their shit with a REFF url in their description, totally unrelated to anything in there.
Come on man - Next you'll tell me you have not seen em?
And by the way - please elaborate HOW YOUTUBE LOSES MONEY ON THIS?! Wtf.... Asides from bandwidth usage, nothing happens really. If they REALLY were hemorrhaging money - they would have fixed it.
Seeing how even VEVO ACCOUNTS use shit likes this should put your ethics in check as to what is marketing on there.
Are you guys just not reading what I write? Nowhere did I say that YouTube doesn't have automated checks for a lot of things, but do you guys really think that YouTube doesn't have staff which does manual reviews of videos? How does YouTube respond to DMCA requests without manual reviews?
Haven't you seen videos where the video says "this video was removed due to requests by Zuffa LLC, Warner Brothers Products, BadBoy recods"? That has to be manually added in because the real DMCA requests get handled manually.
Are you guys really trying to say that YouTube wouldn't care if a video has all botted views as long as they don't put URL in description and don't reach front page? Is that your argument?
I never said YouTube is hemorrhaging money over this issue. But if you don't think they lose money when things like this happen, then you don't understand YouTubes business model. YouTube loses money when videos reach the front page and the suggested videos pages, because these videos are 1) making people get frustrated with YouTube, and visiting YouTube less. 2) taking views away from partnered/adsense videos where people are shown ads before watching the video 3) upset/frighten advertisers because they dont want their ads shown on crappy videos 4) upset/frighten advertisers because they dont want to have to pay for botted views (even though they dont normally, but they still are worried about it). 5) upset legitimate partner accounts which make them money through adsense, and may cause they to move their content somewhere else.
