i have a client that is spending over $6000 in text-link-ad services and today i just received a report from them and checked out some of the sites which were all pretty much content farms just by looking at them. I mean they have PR3-6 which is good i guess. but i feel this is alot of money to be wasting on, when I can use that money to allocate to other just as good services here in the for sale services section.

What is everyone's take on text link ads compared to some packages we have here in the services section? Which ones do you think would be more effective?

I mean definitely the price is alot lower here than going through them as they seem to be the broker after all.

High PR links work, that is why they are expensive.

If your client is ranking well and is earning a solid ROI then $6k/month is just an investment for the business.

You won't achieve the same results by spending $6k on linkwheels here, all of the big boys play with high PR links and without them you can't even get in the game.

$6k for high pr links using text link ads is a NOT worth it according to me. As you already mentioned, most of the sites are just content form, these sites tend to lose and gain their PR like crazy over a period of time and many a times, Google finds out what spam they are generating and it de-indexes the whole site, which ends up hurting your money site in the end.

I personally, would spend this money building a network of private blogs that controlled by me exclusively and build the best quality of high pr links to those blogs, which would then backlink to my money site. That would ensure a much better standard of quality and you can expect better rankings because the backlinks that your money site gains are also from the same niche as your money site and have superb backlinks and content on them.

Did this for a client of mine...he was spending quite a lot on links from a provider. I replaced all his links (gradually, like 5/week or so) with others, his expenses went to about 10% from the total sum/year, maybe less...

Many links were placed on de-indexed pages or on pages with zillions of links. :)

right now im just using extrawinner's black hole seo service as that seemed to have some raving reviews. im not sure if it beats the text link ads tho..

$6k for high Pr links OMG!!! . I work on Odesk and I sell Page Pr links and recently I sold 100 PR4 links for 500 bucks which is pretty good for me. visit my profile if you want to.

I recently got a project for 600 PR2 Actual Page Pr links for 1800$.

Wow, great post! might have to get around to tring this. Really appreciate the share.

I think it's definetly worth it, if I could afford text link ads, I'd buy some. But that's only for keywords that are profitable ofcourse :)

i had a client who spent more than 6000€ on adwords per month. Only 100 visitors per day because the clicks were very expensive...

Threads like this make you realise how few people on BHW actually run real businesses.

MrE is spot on - if you're a business earning a positive ROI from those textlinks, why would you question the investment?

I would pay $6k/mo all day long for links if I got a return on that money... wouldn't you?

The whole SEO thing sold to medium-big companies works like a charm and you can get big fat paychecks from them just by outsourcing their projects.

Of course you can do it cheaper than 6k, you just have to find a proper way to do it, and take some chances. SEO means Google spots 1-5 for them... and lately Google messed up each and every SEO technique.

True, but what if you can get the same result for less money? It's not questioning the investment but increasing ROI.

It worth the price if getting returns. I know company spend $100 per click for their service. $6000 only get 60 clicks.

But we're only speculating they could get a better return elsewhere.

Sometimes I'd rather take the low risk, low hassle return I'm already getting than take on more risk/time to possibly get a higher return.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it :)

you gotta diversify yo link portfolio. Def continue to spend the $6k/mo if its giving a positive ROI but always try out new methods/techniques to see what works best. That way when the content farms get slapped, you got backups.

you gotta understand that those businesses don't link build.. thats not their job, it's yours. They pay for the expertise of link builders to do everything for them so that they can focus on running their business - for which you take a premium.
