Joining an affiliate network such as MaxBounty is a good next step. Also, do a search here on BHW as there is a huge amount of step by step info already available for anyone who knows who to use some basic search commands.
In a nutshell you need some good (possibly targeted) traffic, a basic sales funnel and a front/back product that sells.

There are literally millions of things you can promote, I would suggest it being something you are personally interested in (If you like sports, promote sports betting affiliate?)
Whatever you choose, start with a small budget and test, do NOT just dump 5000 in a few ad copies and hope for the best

If the real meaning of what you've actually mentioned is taken, then you will exactly break even OR have a loss of $2000. Let me explain :-

I know that you mean to make a profit of $3000 or more by investing $5000. However, the MORAL OF MY STORY here is that words in writing must be made very thoughtfully otherwise it could mean something totally different, like in this case of your's. DOES IT MATTER ??? Oh yes it matters. The entire result of an ad campaign sometimes depends on CONTENT and that ad content may just be a line or two, but how those lines are written to mean what MATTERS A LOT. So, if you are positive minded, you would take my observation as a learning. I love learning and will continue to, because it helps me grow.

you can spend $30 and get a great book instead of blowing $5K.
once you get a solid understanding then start testing and gaining experience
