Same as you do to any other country. Except maybe buy a .mx or .es TLD

I suggest you to link translated pages in websites, directories, blogs and other stuff from each of these countries. It's the easiest way to rank it up by countries.

Exemple, link some mexican pages in mexican websites, link spanish pages in spain websites and so on..

You dont need different tld. Just subdomains or subfolers should do the job..

.es it's for Spain, for Argentina you should use .com.ar. Anyway I recommend you to use a .com, and try to hire a spanish writer (me :p) and just work the backlinks with some articles.

I use .com, .org and .info for my Spanish sites to cover all countries at once. Reason being that .es is really good for Spain but not for the other Spanish countries, just like .ar is excellent for Argentina but not as good for the others.. etc. Note that .es TLD can´t have private registar as per Spanish law. If you can, do one domain per country you will get better results. And if you are doing an authority website, after having the website translated you should also then have translators from each Spanish speaking counry localize it.

I do banklinks in both spanish and english.

FYI: Brasil = Portugues not Spanish

Don't listen to the guy above. A .ar can rank pretty well in Mexico, in the US and so on. For example, search for "Aprender Ingles" (a highly competitive keyword). The #1 site is a .ar in most countries.

Another thing I recommend is buying links from Spanish websites. They are usually cheaper. Lastly, I have found blog commenting in Spanish sites good also (try scrapebox). You usually only need a few hundred links to rank #1.

Of course that a .com.ar ranks pretty well, also you can use a .kn (San Cristóbal y Nieves) and it will rank pretty well. But, will your spanish - american visitant come back? maybe.
