spamming warning emails

I've been using scrapebox to blast a lot of comments. But recently i've been getting quite a few emails like this..

Please stop with your spam links on our comments systems. It's a waste
of your time and my time.

Obviously this guy's website is my competitor. I kind of feeling bad because I felt I did something illegal Obviously he went on my website and got my email address.

so have you guys dealing with such things?

You could always ask him what domains of his he's referring to, so you can get with your linking dept. to find out what's going on.

You could oblige him, if he gives you a straight answer, and do a little competitive analysis in the process.

I tend to ignore making contact with the person making request. However, if in their first email they give me the details of the website or email address, I will remove it without them know.

Responding can leave traces of your IP and other things that you do not want someone to have.

I kind of agree that I shouldn't respond to his email.

I already add his websites to my no-spam list.
