Hi, there is a website that is #1 on google and I want its spot. I was wondering if you could spam the site with PR0 blog comments so google thought they were doing some dodgy SEO. I was thinking about doing it one day a week in massive lots so it looks even more dodgy. Does anyone have any experience with this or opinions on the likely outcome?

P.s. I failed my ethics class

Here is how you do it:
1. Read through the forums
2. Realize that you can't do negative SEO because it takes no work at all and google would be shit

Not a good idea. Negative seo is dirty. Just do some positive seo on your site. You will probably just give your competition some free backlinks especially of your not sure what your doing.

negative seo is 100% possible as if you can penalize your own site doing what we have been doing, then you can do it someone else's...

i don't really think it is very ethical to do this, but to say its not possible is not looking at the situation google has created and being honest with yourself...

You certainly did. Have you ever thought that site may belong to a member here? Go ahead and see what happens to your site. Why are people afraid to work anymore?

I am almost certain the owner of this site is not a member here. In fact it is one of hundreds of smaller sites to generate traffic for a large chain of sites. I don't want to do it to avoid work, I am doing allot of work to rank my site. I want to do it mainly because I'm a fully sick keyboard warrior.

I'm not going to argue but you should know these two things:
1. The reason why people think they got penalized by Penguin is because Google no longer treats some of the backlinks as "quality links" therefore you have less backlinks therefore you drop in rank
2. If negative SEO was possible, Google would turn shit in about 1 hour because any noob with a scrapebox license could blast the shit out of any site and have it go down in rankings

I agree! I also believe the G waited to penalize people that used BMR etc until the update to confuse people. They want you to be confused.... Those sights as long as you keep backlinking correctly to them will eventually get pushed back up.

I used to agree with you on the 2nd point but the simple fact is that you are wrong. I have tested it many times and it works. The only times I have done it were in niches I wasent in for the sole purpose of a case study. You can de rank any domain if you blast enough. I have sent amazon and wikipedia pages from #2 to not in top 500.

So google would fall to shit if google allowed Negative SEO? Your right! Why do you think you see all these articles about crap and blank websites ranking #1 in google lately? Its because google has allowed negative SEO and started a war in many niches. This leaves crap that used to be on page 5-10 on first page because the first 5 pages have all blasted each other out of existence.
Bleave me this WAR killed one of my most profitable niches

Negative SEO is real! Immoral but possible

Did you blast them with animal pr0n links or something? Because I am inclined to think if you blasted amazon and wikipedia with 50,000 comments of just 1 anchor (ie target keyword), then it would INCREASE their rankings due to their trust. You must have done some mad shady shit on them to get them out...

Thats what I think too.

I feel Google is scaring Black Hat SEO'ers but eventually things will come back to normal. Right now the search results are in complete disarray and I doubt they'll still stay the same. I'm sure diverse good quality back linking with proper varied anchor text will do just fine.

Have you ever considered maybe the owner is relying on his IM income to survive or to feed his family? You can never know who owns a site and what the site means to the person. Negative seo'ing someone is very nasty and in the long run, it will not get you anywhere.

Would you rather be known as a creator or a destroyer? One has a bright future, the other.. well, the other will constantly be fighting with everyone and everything around him constantly struggling to succeed.

It might just be me, but I rather build myself up and contribute positively than to tear everything around me down.. once again thats just me and I'm sure there are ppl who dont see the world as I do (actually this is a given lol).

And to those who don't think negative SEO is possible, if it was a few months ago I would have stood behind you and supported your point, but I have seen negative SEO in action, first hand. I've tested it on my own sites as well as on my web 2.0 (yes it can sink a ranking web 2.0 property too).

Here is the perfect case study of Neg. SEO

You should get out there and do a little bit of reading, research, and your own testing before you base your decisions on speculation.

I disagree... I have sites that dropped lower than when they first started.... If that were true that would not be that low. It is a penalty. I would be better off with no links at all.

In fiverr i have hired a person 3 to 4 months ago, he blasted one of my testing site with 10k xrumer backlinks and 5k scrapebox backlinks in span of 24 hours. Till now that tested site is not ranking for the keywords. Before that that tested site is in rank 7. That tested site is not deindexed only for respective keywords get penalized. So Negative SEO do exists and it depends on backlinks, what you using in blasting.

This is such an obvious answer to this question...if any site can be penalized for its back links than any site can be penalized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is such an obvious observation, anyone who disagrees is delusional....

but, google doesn't care, that is what is so fucked up...
