I just wanted to let everyone know spamming still works.
a competitor of mine is doing nothing but posting to random weird foreign websites. The posts seems to be automated because these websites are all in a foreign language like Japanese or Russian and unless the guy speaks every language, it has to be automated.

All his articles are spun garbage that make no sense.

He is now ranking #2 for a very competitive term.

I thought penguin and panda took care of all these loopholes?

What made you think penguin and panda took care of spam? Google's search results are currently awful, there's a ridiculous amount of sites ranking with spun content and a few hundred thousand spam backlinks (not scrapebox blasts).
 
Spam has to work. At least for as long as google uses the algorithm they use. Their whole search engine concept would have to change if they wanted spam to stop working.

The only difference is in how long the ranking will last.

Exactly, spam will always work to some extent IMO. Churn and burn baby.

No.

Penguin and panda took care of all good quality sites because they know that spammers don't spend money on adword but those good quality site owners do. GFG (Go Fuck Google).
 
People tend to generalize things too much like: does it work or not. But there is so much more to these algorithms than that. His rankings might not last for long though!

Does he have a lot of those spammy backlinks?
 
Spam still works :) One of my blog ranking #3 in medium competitive keyword ! But it will disappear soon.....

No: you can bring spammy site up high, but for a very short time
Yes: you'll have to use much more power than it used to be to rank high
The fella I know uses 3 dedicated servers: 2 for instant non-stop spamming and 1 for heavy parsing of new forums and boards.
My point: what you could achieve 5 years ago with say Xrumer on the notebook at home need much more power today. Guys are spamming at 300 posts per minute, 100.000 posts per cycle
 
Spamming work til you get caught and slapped! Dont see the point in wasting so much time and money and loosing everything!
 
Sometimes I think that all the Animal updates were nothing more than random shuffles, you have similar sites with similar backlink profiles and half of them go up and the other half loses 90% of their traffic. Next update, same thing, similar sites, some go up and some go down; the message is clear, use Adwords if you want stable income otherwise face uncertainty
 
Spamming still works, but you just need to spice things up.

Depends upon the new up gradation of Google algorithm.Spam works but it just give temporary benefit.
 
G adores spammers. Spammers force big companies to pay top dollar to promote shit, as spammers over-rank them easily. And this is ideal for big G.
