Spam testing. Lets see what happens.

We have been doing A LOT of testing for various "spam" techniques that google thinks is bad. This domain of ours we did one 50k blog comment blast per day for 14 days. We used ONE anchor text. The blog comments also consisted of trackbacks. I should also mention that majestic shows 800k backlinks. Not sure why Ahref only shows 60k?

I figured I would let you guys see one of our tests. Reason for these tests? We believe we found a method to bring back a site that gets penalized VERY QUICKLY. So here is what we did.

On the 15th (today) we started with 20k forum profiles using the same anchor text. We will do this for another 13 days.

Current ranking for KW = #1 (has around 110 searches per month)


Ahrefs rank pre spam = 359
Ahrefs rank now = 1200

Great case study! Are you going to be doing any additional linking except the forum profiles and blog comments?

Also if you do another test, try using the anchor text in this format:

the best KEYWORD PHRASE
you must see this KEYWORD PHRASE etc...

Do this for about 6 keyword phrases, just so the overall keyword density is below the 20% penalty limit.

This way all the anchor text technically has your keyword in but is diverse enough not to trigger any penalties.

May actually give this a go myself when I have some spare time.

this is just one test out of around 50 that we are doing. Each test will be different.

Always interested in this kind of things because testing is the only way to find exactly what's working and whats not.

Good luck and keep us posted. If you method works, you can start a very succesul BST, I am more than sure :)

Maybe i'm missing something, but what are you testing other than if spam works in huge volumes, without doing anything clever in how you spam? Surely this would work short term then drop you like a stone? Or are you doing something different or new that i'm perhaps missing?

Maybe you didnt read my original post. We are doing various spam testing and then bringing the sites back from the dead.

"Bringing the sites back after they tank" is the main thing that we are testing. The act of tanking the websites is already well known. So all the well known ways to tank your site we are doing and then testing our methods to bring them back to see if our methods work for each way a site is tanked.

Get it now?

Day 19.

Rankings are still stable at #1 and Ahrefs showing 65k backlinks.
 
Interesting. I have a few tests like these that I am planning to run soon.
Will share my results as well.
 
Your ahrefs graph is so similar to one of my sites.....:D

Heh, no need to tank a site to resurrect it, I have one you can work on, all the hard work tanking it has been done for you already :P
