If I built a massive live of MSN messanger users, and Yahoo messanger users, and emailed them affiliate links from time to time would affiliate networks consider this spam?

Id love to know the answer to this thanks!!!

As long as yahoo or msn dont complain to the affiliate company they probably will accept your traffic. But yes it is considered spam especially if its on a big scale.

well i think its better to send them to your site that contain your affiliate links, its better than giving affiliate links directly.

That only works as long as you cover your tracks. Spam is any email sent without the user's request, so if anybody bitches about your messages, you could face problems. But if you get a good program and hit it big, it would be worth it wouldn't it?

Yes, everyone and his dog will consider this spam because it will constitute illegal commercial emailing within the definitions of the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.

Just search "CAN SPAM" on this board for my various and frequent comments on this matter as well as the link to the text of the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.

I may put together what would be a rather long treatise on HOW to send bulk commercial emails but if I do, it will NOT be shareware, will NOT be cheap and the project itself will be stunningly expensive but astonishingly profitable as well.

OK, here is your thread or your sign, as the case may be.

I would be very careful doing stuff like this. The fines are big if you reside in the USA, I believe.

Great info guys thanks so much.

Not only could this get you into some serious legal trouble, due to the spam, but the affiliate networks may drop you too if it violates their TOS. Be careful!
