"accessed Facebook members' accounts without their permission "

That's all you need to see to know you're going to get targeted when you do silly things like that.

well now they have made some money off the backs of other peoples work.

What's the point in suing someone with no money for $700m? Is this an American thing, because i have no idea how this works and seems straight out of cloud cuckoo land. It's seems completely an utterly ludicrous; beyond obsurd; laughable.

And this as well. You gotta love the bloke. :)

"This isn't the first time that Sanford was successfully sued by an online company. In May, 2008, MySpace won a $230 million judgment against Wallace for sending junk messages. Wallace was also fined $4 million by the Federal Trade Commission in 2006 for his excessive pop-up ads."

hey i've been sued before, you can sue someone for a billion gazillion dollars it don't means shit :) first you have to win the lawsuit and even then if person makes an average income then they'll just make you small monthly payments or whatever

it seems that zuckerberg went out of pocket money yesterday - so he thought of an idea to make some money and came up with this.

Wont mean they will get the money, just means he is stuffed from setting up other companies..But it doesn't mean they will even care...

People like this but they will just go set up companies under other peoples names and crap like that..

Anyone notice when you join a group how the openly state that there pulling your email address and friend names and all that B.S?

There is definitely some mega cash deals going on in the background. Besides their
PPC platform.

Cheers.

The guy had 11,000 myspace accounts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanford_Wallace I think theres a line that you cross with this kind of stuff... you can go one of two routes, one is just to outright spam where you just spam blast everything you can like creating thousands of accounts and sending pm's to everyone with links, sending untargeted emails etc, knowing that you'll only get a small percentage response but the large numbers make it worth it... OR

you can mix at least some white hat type of practices in and at least make an attempt to mimic human actions, add people gradually as friends (still in large amounts but not ridiculous) rely more on status updates to drive traffic, etc rather than just sheer numbers of spam pm's and then I think you'll be ok since theres a lot of grey area in this stuff so if they can't prove outright spamming intent then they probably won't bother to go after you

son of a bitch man... 711mil.. :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: that dude seriously got fucked up money wise. if the dude wants some money i can put him to work on the streets getting into cars and doing strange things with strange men. i don't know if he'll like it very much but hell, its a start. thats just ridiculous trying to get that much money from a broke dick like this guy. :pokey:

Thats funny because i use to work with Sanford Wallace back in the early 1990's.
he got sued by AOL back then.
