Just read that twitter opened the doors that you can dm anyone. It doenst matter if they follow you or dont follow you.

Starting today, Twitter users can now DM anyone, regardless of if they follow them or not. The update is an effort by Twitter to turn itself into more of a messaging service, perhaps like WhatsApp, which was recently acquired by Facebook for $19 billion.

DM=Direct Message. It's the same thing as a PM (private message) but twitter calls it DM for some reason

I can see this opening a whole can of problems and maybe even cause problems for Twitter if messages can be sent without the need to follow.
