A quick update:

I've had a busy weekend away, so was not able to progress as much as I had hoped. I did manage to create another three accounts, and added pins/boards manually to them, and then used PinDominator to add the followers.

Here's how they look currently:






Total followers: 973

I've been adding pins manually, I tried to automate it with PinDominator but I found it was adding pins that were not in my Niche. I'm not sure if this was down to me entering the wrong keywords, I will have to experiment a little more with it.

It's been a couple days since I last updated, progress has been a little slow, but I have made some.

Domain name has been purchased, and I've setup my website (Wordpress + WooCommerce + Theme).

Currently the website is split into two main sections, a blog and an online affiliated shop.

Blog

The idea is to write 5-6 articles a week, they will be informative and used to try and sell affiliated products.

I plan to keep the blog articles simple:

Example

Title: 5 Awesome Vintage Scarves

Description: A description about what scarves are and why they need to buy one.

Content: 5 related products found on Etsy, each one with a one line description, a photo and a price. Clicking the product will take you to the full product page in my online shop.

Each article will have their own image that will be used for pinning, this image will be a collage of the photos used in the article and will be the maximum size allowed on Pinterest (735 x 1102).

Online Shop

Each of the products used in the articles will be added to my shop, they will be given a full description (copy and pasted from Etsy/Amazon), pricing information, photos and an affiliated link to purchase the product from Etsy/Amazon. They will also have a list of articles that the product has featured in, as well as a list of related products.

Any products used in the blog articles will link directly to the product in my shop.

My goal is to keep people on my website long enough for them to make a decision on purchasing a product, or they click an advert.


I'll also try and post an update later today on how my Pinterest accounts are progressing. Also, I like ramble on, if people don't like this please say something and I'll try shorten my posts.

About the articles, if you dont intent to rank the site in future, just copy articles from other sites.
You mentioned about using a few accs, are going to build them as authority accs in different niches or you will use some of them like slave accs for smaping purposes?

At the moment I have no plans to get the site ranked, I'm relying on all my traffic coming from Pinterest, but I'm open for trying other methods if I can't drive the traffic I need.

This is my first real shot at producing something like this, so I'm going to produce my own articles to see how time consuming it is and whether I can produce decent content.

I have 5 accounts all in the same niche, I have left my niche quite broad so I can always focus them on something within my chosen niche. I'm not 100% sure how I will use these accounts to drive traffic yet, something I'll think about over the weekend.

Another update...

My website is looking great, logo has been created, and the general layout of the site has been done, overall it looks and feels very girly! (so my wife tells me!)

I'm a little worried that I won't be able to drive enough traffic from Pinterest to make this worth while. When I started to add followers through Pindominator I was getting quite a few people following me in return, which is great, but a lot of these followers don't have any boards within my niche and the only way I can see for this to work is to keep adding masses of followers and hope a select few are interested in my niche.

I do know group boards will be a big driving force for traffic as well, I have found quite a few large boards in my niche and once my website is live I will attempt to join them.

Oddly I've had 5 group board invites for some very random boards (one for moulded plastics?!?), I'm guessing the owners are just mass inviting to try get their numbers up.

Next up, getting my articles finished (aiming for 10 by the end of the weekend), I'm also going to have a closer look at the accounts that are following me and I'm going to try and produce a list of the ones in my niche so I can start to follow them on my other accounts (this might be a little too time consuming).
