I actually haven't done this myself, but helped friend do it and it worked pretty well for him (around 10 customers a day). He was trying to order Salvia online one day, where he came across an affiliate program that sold "tobacco" pipes and other whatnot. He set up one of the worst websites I've ever seen (his host eventually banned him for content about illegal substances) which was basically a thumbnail view of products with a 10ish word description and when you clicked on one it would bring you to the order form. He even used a co.cc domain. We skated around town for a few days and just stuck a bunch of bumper stickers with pictures of interesting paraphernalia and his URL at the bottom to street signs, toilet stalls, mailboxes, bus stops, and other places like that. Figured he could just say something like "Our products come with a free sticker, it isn't our problem what our customers do with them" if they ever tried to contact his "company". Got around 10 customers a day before he got shut down by his web host. Most of the stickers we put up are still there, too.
