I'm not sure if there are any Soundcloud experts out there. As popular as this site I haven't seen a lot of strategies on how to make your music go viral on the site.

Music discovery can be huge on Soundcloud, especially if you come up as recommended next to a popular like artist. The recommended section on Soundcloud has more potential for discovery than YouTube because it plays recommended songs automatically after a song has finished. Its like forced listening. Of course anyone can turn you off but I'm sure there are plenty who will give you a shot and that could mean a world of difference.

I'm trying to figure out how exactly Soundcloud determines what is recommended. I would imagine its a combination of likes, plays, playlists and follows.

I'm curious if anyone has tried to game the Soundcloud system into getting listed as recommended under a popular artist.

I would imagine the following would work. I want to try this but would like any suggestions before I begin the experiment.

Lets say you're promoting a rapper who sounds like Eminem. Consider the following:

New Rapper gets 100k plays and you gave Eminem 100k plays, Soundcloud would see the same 100k people are listening to the same song.

New Rapper gets 10k likes and reposts and Eminem gets the 10k likes and reposts Soundcloud would think people who like New Rapper like Eminem.

Make about 30 playlists and they feature New Rapper and Eminem, Soundcloud would think these artists make similar music.

And maybe have 1000 accounts comment on New Rapper and an Eminem song and maybe Soundcloud would see the engagement is similar between the 2 artists. Also make sure that commenting accounts follow both New Rapper and Eminem.

Think that would be enough to associate the 2? I wouldn't use Eminem in the experiment, just as an example for the sake of discussion. I think this would work but right now its just a theory I have. Has anyone tried anything similar?

Eminem was just a placeholder. You could pick any artists. I'm just curious if establishing a connection could help Soundcloud increase visibility for organic traffic to a song.

If your music is suck even soundclub couldnt helps u.
Better concentrare all power on quality and famous will find u.

No one said anything about making a song that sucks into a great song. Please refrain from post this sort of nonsense in this thread.

I'm looking for a blackhat way to find the appropriate audience for a song or artist.

What you are looking for is known as the "soundcloud discorank" algorithm.

Plays, favourites, reposts, tracklistings all help, as do external social indicators (supposedly)

Yes that's what I'm looking for. Has anyone cracked what is needed?
