I recently picked up a domain which was available that is exact match to my target keyword (which is not a hard keyword)

i discovered domain is 9 years old today. Ahrefs profile shows no report of any backlink ever made, web archive tool dates back to only template registrant for sale page for 9 years, No message in google webmasters for any penalization, when i put “site:domain.com” on google it’s there.

I indexed the domain about 8 hours ago, but i would of thought i’d be somewhere on Google (top 150) for this keyword, honestly don’t know if it’s penalized, Google shows it’s currently indexed.

Content isn’t all that (less than 100 words) and one page submitted.

What do you guys think, have you ever had a similar situation?

The only way i see myself on Google is literally when i type domain.com or site:domain.com

I faced this a few times before. Try to publish some articles, point 1-2 links, and wait for couples of days!

The domain you have bought is weak, that's why.

9 years is worth nothing. The backlinks that point to a domain are everything.

That's why you only find it doing a site:search. Nothing is wrong... :)

You are not penalized in other words.

If site:domain.com produces results amd gsc shows no warnings, your domain is not penalized.
