Good. These clueless bastards in Congress need to keep their fingers off of stuff they don't have the first idea about (which is pretty much everything).

What qualifies any of these assholes to make policy on anything?

Good to see sanity still holds some ground, I hope it's enough to stop this. Roparadise is absolutely right, the not-so-pretty reality of a democratic society is that voters who care more about meaningless crap like their neighbor's bedroom activities than they do about honest issues of substance can swing elections--and when you put garbage in, you get garbage out. It's not even really fair to blame the politicians for their ignorance, we hire them for the jobs despite their faults and lack of common sense.

I wouldn't want a different system, but so long as there's an under-informed and inattentive electorate we'll keep seeing the same madness cycle itself over and over again.

Any internet company should be anti any regulation that involves changing the internet.
From payment processors (which were changed in 2008 to become dumbly stringent) to websites, these people need to go blow themselves.

The one thing these people don't even seem to understand, this isn't a brick and mortar business that has assets invested in your country. You touch them, and they will just move to the (already) much more favorable locations.
The USA internet network is already VASTLY inferior to a host of country's networks in speed and accessibility
