i thought we'd at least have a couple more blackout days LOL

I guarantee you this fight is not over. There's a lot of money being used to lobby congress over this. More likely they will try to find a way to backdoor something and slide it under the radar.

Correct, and it's called the Protect IP Act. A lot of people think SOPA was introduced to make Protect IP seem like a "better" alternative. It's a classic trick :X, showing the public something worse so they won't be as upset when another bill passes :(.

Of course the fight is not over. But it's still a battle won in an ongoing war.

SOPA has been delayed, for now. The House has agreed to revisit the issue next month, but they now know the White House will veto any bill that's not more narrowly focused.

lol at the title of this thread...

sopa isn't killed it will make its return in february

Until it has actually been voted on or vetoed it is not over..

SOPA and PIPA is not killed, its going to make its way back for another hearing. It's just been delayed. I don't think most of America knows the amount of money being pumped into politicians / lobbying and the amount of judges these big corps have in their back pockets. They will eventually win.

Look at some of the bill titles they are trying to mislead people with. If you think "Stop Online Privacy Act" name was misleading, look at H.R. 1981: Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act of 2011.

It will rear it's ugly head again, got to love the way they bought a political POS like Chris Dodd to shill this bullshit through Congress. Deep, deep pockets and they got Rupert Murdoch on their side!

This bill has NOT been stopped.

They will go into voting on the 24th of January...5 days from now we will see the outcome and future of the Internet. Looks like a very f'ing sad day. R.I.P. Internet 2012

This is the second version of a bill they tried to pass in 2010, it manage to be brought up a second time and a third with PIPA. If they want to keep us stupid and lazy, they better not take away our internet.

A million voices posting on a website is better than having a million protesting in Washington.

BTW, what other news is going on right now that this is "covering up"?

hmm IRAN ? Republican Debates? ... Something..

I'm still not sure this was ever "meant" to pass.
