Eff The United States they want to control everyone and everything, Just take all your business to Canada or Europe, Move all your website and companies somewhere else. Then The states will lose tons of money and become a 3rd world country....I mean they pretty much are with there huge Debt that they cant seem to ever payback.

Actually on the flip side, i do understand there concern..it's messing up there money i knew this would happen at some time, u can't be mad at hollywood for feeling a certain way there's no justification for stealing there material but for our own selfish purposes

The sad part about it is they spend a hell of alot of money to produce music and movies and to have someone take it and give it out for free is just shitty. I mean even we have our own SOPA it's called the DO NOT SHARE LIST

One big issue is that the companies that are pushing these two bills are shoveling money into the congress persons pocket. From what I gathered when calling my local congress people is that they have been told/ lied to that this will help protect the American people from illegal products such as pharmaceuticals and low quality black market electronics. People that do offline internet marketing, such as I do, know that you can feed a lot of people internet snake oil which is exactly why this bill has passed so quickly. These congress reps are being told what they want to hear in order for big business to get this bill passed and they don't know any better and are not educated enough to make an inform decision. If this bill passes you will see a drastic and detrimental shift in the internet and freedom of speech within the internet. Call you local congress and ask them to VOTE NO ON SOPA AND PIPA.

P.S. I'm a little surprised by the number of BHW members who voted "NO" I have not called my local rep. This bill will directly affect your wallet in a negative way. Do your part, change you "no" vote to a "yes I called", and visit http://boldprogressives.org before it's to late.
 
Copyright infringement is just an excuse. The real reason behind this law is to stifle free speech and stop any dissent against the ruling elite who are bound and determined to control by an iron hand any way they can. We are at an age of enlightenment thanks to the internet and they are are feeling very threatened right now.

In the 1970s, Sony developed Betamax, a video tape recording format and would be sued by the movie industry. Just like when you were given the ability to record music to cassette tapes even earlier. It's called evolution. These companies were never able to stop it then and they will not really be able to fully stop it now. Make it harder yes. Try and suppress us as a society yes. At the end of the day they need to evolve with the rest of the world and use technology to their advantage.
 
Yeah it's definitley a Trojan Horse to control the Net.

so now 99% of the US public/ and world wide say "what's the rpoblem with it?" It protects us........Too ignorant to see the real purpose.

I remember a story about the Brits taxing people about 1790 because of the war against France. 10% There was outrage.

"But people we do it only for your own good. When the war is over we will scrap this tax"

And today it stands at 50% for "high income earners" LOL

You are right.

Even BHW has censorship.

I own a production company.
We make commercials and stuff like that for companies like MTV and other large corporations.
Our stuff is high priced.... 10k and above to license it.
But a few months after we put it out... we see it on russian sites selling for Less than $100.....
 
Maybe i should stop now or I fear I'll be assasinated or put up on "bogus" rape charges if I carry on.
 
OK I agree that is 100% wrong and I'd be p** off but they need to tighten up international law not go and pass this "trojan horse" of a bill.

havent been crushed because they have been used to people not paying attention. With more and more people knowing things are messed up movements are making huge noise.

If this is your argument against SOPA.... then you are in for a surprise.

No one in the real world (outside the IM and BHW) that I have talked to believes this.

From their response.... they have faith in the US.

They do not see how this law affects them or their favorite sites.
When i asked them, they responded with "if my favorite site is using pirated images or whatever, then they deserve to be shutdown".
 
also its been out there that movie executives are making more and more money these days. they are complaining just because of GREED

Ive talked to alot of people and i think people are getting smarter to the notion that America has been failing them and alot of these laws have no benefit to the people. But i do still run across those type of people you are talking about

That analogy was GREAT! besides for the fact that the product (Cassette Tape) was placed in stores to be sold with copyright material on it. However you can't compare the internet to a cassette tape apples & oranges. Copyright material is placed on the Net to be giving away for FREE! and there's no way to police the internet because of technology offshore servers with different laws on what can be hosted etc or (loop holes)


My Personal opinion - I don't care how it goes i don't download movies and music anyway im a 80's baby im still conditioned mentally to go into the store and buy a movie or CD or download it to my iphone from itunes.

At the end of the day, I understand Hollywood why shouldn't they force the issue im sure they only care about there material anyway, I doubt a site will be taken down with cracked version of a IM tool on it lol

We all have greed.

That does not mean the movie people have to turn the other way and let people pirate their work.

People that pirate are also greedy... they do not want to give their money in exchange for the product they are pirating....




Bill Gates has made billions with software.... if it was legal, he would beat you to death with a baseball bat if he caught you pirating Windows.


We live in a world of greed... but that does not give anyone and everyone the right to steal.

100% agreed, that's exactly my point. Think about it...you invest 1 million in a movie then the day after its released you find the movie is giving away for free on some damn site that gets 30k UV's a day I would be super pissed.
