I've been on this forum lurking for over a year now, and I still don't understand how you guys manage to get your website to the top of Google. I see guys sell backlinks with DA but still I have no idea what anything is and I am supposed to get my websites to the top. Do you guys have any tutorials I can watch or read to actually start working instead of dreaming of my page getting organic visitors.

Start by learning SEO basics from sites like Moz or backlinko, then practice by optimizing one small site step-by-step.

Totally get you - SEO can feel overwhelming at first. Start with basics like keyword research, on-page SEO (titles, headings, internal links) and creating useful content. Then learn about backlinks. Check out Backlinko and Ahrefs blogs - they break it down well.

you gotta give google what they want, not what they say they want even if, many times, what they want and what they say they want is the same thing...

Like, for example, they say they want quality content and that's true, they do want quality content. But they want it not for their users, but to train their AI on, and to influence and brainwash people.

And the reason for which I know they don't want quality content for their users but for their own selfish gains is because if they cared about users they wouldn't fill the page 1 of their search engine with ads, spam, and irrelevant pages for many good keywords that only authority sites and / or google partners are ranking for despite of some of those sites not meeting the "helpful content" guideliness that google - presumably - seems so hellbent on enforcing...

So anyway.... you gotta give google quality content and hope that - in their mercy - they reward you with rankings for a few months until they shuffle the SERPs again like they've been doing a lot over the last several years. So, quality content is one thing...

The other thing is... google doesn't want websites to create backlinks, but backlinks are the #1 reason for boosting your site's authority and since google loves authority.... well, they love backlinks, despite of what they're saying.

So, quality content and backlinks... What else? Oh yeah, money.... Google - like all monopolistic and capitalistic ultra rich corporations - also love money. So, if you give them money (in the form of Google Ads) or if you're part of their clique of ultra-billionaires you're going to get free rankings and traffic and leads and sales and everything that comes with being rich. So, be ultra rich and popular and google will rank you up top for a lot of highly profitable keywords without you doing too much. After all, they do love authority...

If being ultra rich is not your thing you gotta work on the other things that their algo pays attention to, such as:

- clean, fast, intuitive, mobile friendly site
- structured data / schemas
- internal linking (each piece of content that you publish on your site needs to link to and from other RELEVANT pages on your site, in a NATURAL way)
- good (or even perfect actually) technical SEO (no broken links, no missing tags, etc.)
- good trust and topical authority signals (I don't know how google evaluates trust, so I can't speak about this, but it's one of the important things nowadays)

Of course, you need to delve deep into each one of these, as there are a lot of small moving parts that need to be integrated into your website, but I'll leave you the freedom of looking them up on the forum / in google, as there's no point in posting dozens of links here :)

The most important lesson I guess is that you need to pay attention to what's working now, and implement those things into your site. And to know what's working you can check the forum regularly, check your favorite blogging authority sites (Ahrefs, SEL, SEJ, SERT, etc) regularly, and also reverse engineer the competition using tools like Ahrefs or Semrush.

And, of course, you gotta implement all of your findings too, if you don't try things out you will never know what works, so you gotta put all of this knowledge to use, otherwise....

SEO is no longer the same as it was.
You need to dig into it even more deeper than ever.
Alone, content or backlinks won't help you to rank higher.
There's a lot to learn and master.
Start with a basic, there are plenty of Tutorials on YouTube that can help you to know more about it.
Also, another best platform to learn SEO is LinkedIn, follow the renowned SEOs and learn something new every day.

How is it changing?
Before, we just researched some keywords and include those in the content, then built somebacklinks and it was worked fine.
Now the time has changed and the SEO too.
Now you have to pay more attention to the Google algorithm change, new updates, and AI implementation, user intent, voice searches and more.

Start with basic SEO guides like Moz or Ahrefs to understand backlinks, on-page, and content SEO. Focus on learning, testing small, and scaling once you see results.

I completely understand your point of view; initially, it might be overwhelming. Learn the fundamentals of on-page SEO first, such as how to properly employ keywords, titles, and meta descriptions. Then, move on to off-page SEO, such as backlinks. For the time being, ignore the DA hoopla and concentrate on quality and relevance. Check out the free YouTube videos of Matt Diggity and Brian Dean; they are excellent. The majority of us had no idea where to begin; just keep trying and making adjustments, and the results will come.

you have to start with the basics — how to read and create custom analytics to see if you're on the right track, the fundamentals of the technical side (of course you can work with a dev specialized in that, but you should roughly understand what they'll do), how to do competitor and keyword analysis, and finally, how to write seo-oriented content.

Start by breaking SEO into two parts: on-site (site structure, content, keywords, speed) and off-site (backlinks, social signals, external references). For on-site, go through beginner-friendly resources like Moz or Backlinko's SEO guides, even if you're going black hat, you need the basics. Off-site is mostly about building backlinks strategically: anchor text, velocity, and source quality all matter.
Once you dive into mass backlinks, duplicate networks, or cloaking strategies, remember Google tracks more than just domains, it also traces IPs and patterns. That’s where proxies, especially mobile proxies, come in handy. If you’re doing churn & burn or running large-scale PBNs, they help you mask footprints and reduce the risk of mass deindexing or penalties.

I have been reading and even worked with some SEO guys before outside of BHW but usually not much good results from it. The good thing about BHW is that some of the sellers of these services are verified by the Forums but there is no way to put a 3 stars or 5 stars to their services such that we, the amateurs even know how to start with by looking within the forums.

I will love to learn more about SEO in a more casual easy style simplified explanation that a dumb fellow like me can comprehend. lol

Have a nice weekend guys.

There’s so many solid strategies you can find on this forum, this issue with SEO (and google ranking in general) is that what worked well in the past might get patched tomorrow - so you need to keep up with the algo updates and apply/try new methods.

Start with basic SEO guides from Moz Ahrefs or Backlinko Learn KW research on GKP or Ubersuggest Focus on on page first then build clean niche relevant links DA is just a metric not a rank booster Watch real SEO case studies not just link sellers Test apply track repeat that’s how you grow pages not dream them.

"Focus on learning the basics of SEO like keyword research and backlinks. YouTube and this forum have tons of helpful tutorials to get you started

Start with keyword research, create quality content, optimize on-page elements (titles, meta, headers), build backlinks, and ensure your site is fast and mobile-friendly.

Start here:
  1. Learn basics – Go through free guides on Moz, Backlinko, Ahrefs blog
  2. Keyword research – Use GKP, Ubersuggest, or Ahrefs free tools. Target low comp, long tail kws
  3. On page SEO – Optimize titles, H1, meta desc, internal links, URL structure, images
  4. Content – Write helpful, niche focused, 1.5k+ word posts that answer real search intent
  5. Technical – Fast site, mobile friendly, clean structure, indexed pages only
  6. Backlinks – Start with guest posts, niche forums, HARO, or Web 2.0s. Don’t just buy DA links blindly
  7. Tools – Use GSC, GA, and Screaming Frog to track and fix issues
  8. Track and improve – Watch rankings, update content, test what works, repeat
SEO is slow at first, but once you get traffic, it compounds. Stay consistent.

always hire the service and get what they are doing ,do same thing stop paying to the service
so you will understand how they are doing otherwise just reading seo books no use

Man, I felt exactly the same. I lurked here forever. The DA stuff is just domain authority, a metric for link strength, but honestly start with keyword research + content first. There tons of free beginner YT video if you search SEO from scratch. Dont overthink , just test.

I completely understand your point of view; initially, it's perplexing. Start with Ahrefs' free YouTube tutorials or Moz's Beginner's Guide to SEO. Prioritize learning about on-page SEO, content optimization, and keyword research before considering backlinks. Everything else will begin to make sense once you grasp the fundamentals.
