The music studio is building another computer engineer room. Instead of doing the Mac / Protools LE thing, i'm recommending the Sonar 8.5 (soon to be Sonar x1 as of December 6) - intel i7 setup, in order to go HD.
I already have Sonar Producer 8.5 but I haven't loaded it yet. They want to go full HD but it seems that in order to go from protools LE to protools HD, you need a hardware soundcard for quiet a few $,$$$.
So is it true like im reading in audio forums, that Sonar basically has more under the hood for less, and you can do full HD w/o the need of $1000s in hardware?
Thanks for your help - i'm more of a computer tech then a music guy, but I want to get it right for them on their 2nd engineer room.
