For years I've been struggling to earn online. Being a third world resident, I have have that urge and never ending quest of earning online, due to how worthless my country's (Nigeria) currency is.
I worked a salary job from 2015 - 2023 and my monthly pay was just around $58. I I lost my mum to an illness because I couldn't afford her medical bills. It took almost a year just for the hospital to release her corpse due to unpaid bills. To my society I'm a never do well who is claiming a holier than thou altitude, due to me not wanting to do online fraud.

All my age mates are living large and buying expensive cars, though all from the proceeds of frauds like romance scam and online extortion. I once attempted the online fraud environment, but guilt feeling wouldn't let me. I couldn't sleep at night when I saw a video of an aged woman crying after she was defrauded by a scammer. I promised myself never to involve myself in such shady activities. But I'm being mocked on daily basis, and name calling never ends. But this ain't too much of an issue to me.

My main issues are not being focused and committed to learning an online skill that will make me earn money. Today I'm learning python, tommorow web development, the day after C programming, then cyber security, I'm stuck in a never ending loop of tutorial hell with no break in sight.

At 30 I don't have or know my passion, I'm extremely introverted as such barely have friends. I can be indoors for almost 24 hours straight. I eat just once a day. I recently sold my inheritance for around $2630 and I plan on living with this for at least 3 years. I have a wife and 2 kids, my wife has a menial store, the $2630 can foot electricity bill, feeding, accomodation and kids upkeep for at least 2 - 3 years.

Learning a skill or setting up an online business within this period is a no bainer and a must for me. But how do I do that when I can't even focus on what to learn or even have the passion for it? Honestly if not for my lovely twin kids I would have ended it all. Each time I attempted doing it, I always see their smiling faces.

In all these years of tutorial hell I haven't attempted internet marketing of any sort that much, because I'm always scared of rejections and being an extreme introvert I'm scared of interacting with people. Though I have noticed that whenever I'm on alcohol my introversy somehow runs away from me, and I somehow develope a thick skin, but I don't want to get used to alcohol for fear of addiction. As it looks it seems it is my only way of comfortably handling rejections.

I need your opinions and recommendations on how best to earn online please. However little it is. I'm more than ready to put my very best in, it is almost a do or die affair for me now.

sorry I'm no expert, but if you already have skills like web development and some programming, why not try freelancing to gain some initial capital that you can reinvest into a more profitable venture later?

My advise is to work on your self improvement - try to work out what it is that makes you introverted and work on challenging yourself and pushing your boundaries.

I believe if you made progress on yourself it would open up many opportunities - online still seems like the best option for you as you then have a global marketplace, but if you improved your interpersonal skills and in turn your confidence, those tools would serve you better than any course.

I really admire your resilience and honesty. It’s tough, but you're clearly determined to create a better future for your family. Feeling stuck in "tutorial hell" is common, and focusing on one skill, like Python, is a good step. Start small with freelance gigs to build confidence and avoid burnout. You're already doing great, and your motivation for your kids is powerful. Take it one step at a time—you're on the right path. You've got this!

Start with freelance writing or microtasks on platforms like Upwork or Remotasks, focusing on one skill to build consistency and income without needing to be social.

Thank you very much for your advice, yes working on my self improvement and being patient is what I'm trying to do now. I'm kind of impatient and desperate for quick results.

Dude, don't fall for the complexity delusion.

Your issue is that your are dropping before starting, your fear of failure is stopping you. This is the exact opposite of how things should be handled.

Get your ass up. Learn to build websites on wordpress (should take you a week, not 2 years), open your laptop, find businesses that need one, there are tons.

Put some nice clothes, act like you own your city and do a 2 hours walk visiting these suckers who are loosing money by not having a website made by you.

The easiest 300 bucks you'll ever make.

Heck don't learn shit. Just learn how to talk and outsource jobs to people who can do it and make a profit. And please, enough of the introvert / extrovert thing. You are literally blocking yourself by stupid made up society concepts.

Making money in 2025 hase become relatively easier with all the available resources. It's now or never.

Focus on one thing and good luck man.

Thank you very much I feel motivated and encouraged by your post. I'm at an intermediate level with python. I'm just being fast forward. My end goal with python was cyber security, but taking things one step at a time is what I'm currently missing. I need to give myself more time and remain focused. This community is very welcoming and cheering I must say.

I have tried a lot of free lance platforms, given the fact that my programming skill is still some how poor. I offered to work on certain projects for half the stated price or even free just to gain experience and build my skills. Somehow I keep getting rejected and my accounts are being banned. Nevertheless thanks for your advice.

You have my utmost respect for making the decision not to participate in scamming people. Perhaps, you could eventually find a joint venture opportunity. Just stay focused and don't give up. Let your family be your motivation. I know it's difficult, but don't give in to negative thoughts. You will find a way!

Hey, Don't Worry. Focus on one high-demand skill like freelance writing, SEO, or affiliate marketing—start small and stay consistent daily. Avoid switching paths; build discipline through routine, not motivation. Join online communities (like Reddit or Discord) for silent support and growth without pressure.

Hey, hope you keep on holding on. Make your kids your motivation. You have 2 years to pick yourself up. Learn from the experts here. Wishing you all the best.

Which among these is what you're good at, and what you like? focus on one thing, and learn to do it well. Over deliver for clients, and they will come back and have referrals.

Don't compare yourself with others. Just compete with the "yesterday you"-- this is the only comparison that matters.

glad you have upheld your values. Keep hustling and good things will come back to you. just be patient, and determined. Hold your head high.

Hey, first of all, massive props for holding true to your values in a world that makes it so difficult. Your story is hard, but goodness, you’re still here fighting and that speaks volumes. Here’s the catch: choose one skill (Just one, web dev, writing, hell, even data entry!) and double down for a few months. No more tutorial hopping! Sites like upwork are packed with gigs that would not require you to take the role of a chatty extrovert; silent jobs like coding or transcription may suit your personality. You are in no rush, 30 min a day, one little project, and keeping building.

Fear of rejection? totally normal, but baby steps are steps. Perhaps assist your wife’s store with dipping a toe in whatsapp business or facebook marketplace. And hey, it’s all right to feel stuck! I've experienced it tons of times; but keep in mind: every small victory counts and you already have the fortitude to make it this far.

Stay focused, lose the guilt, and understand that lots of people are pulling for people like you.

Looks like you have 2-3 years to put yourself on a solid career path. Try to aim for just 1 year, because if you think 3, you may become too relaxed.

I'd say forget about python and web development, too many people do this nowadays anyway. Whenever you'll need python or webdev you'll see there is a practical solution already there, no need to learn everything from scratch.

Instead focus on this forum. Look for methods and try stuff until something works for you. There is always something here that works. Just keep reading new and old threads and you'll find valuable gold nuggets that will set you on the right path.

A lot of ppl here are introverts, so this is the perfect place for you to find a money maker like you want.

Good luck!

P.S. Share your progress in a journey thread if you find a good method.
