IMO to use Reddit for personal stuff you need to unsub from all the major subs and join tiny ones that interest you. I've found some diamonds while sifting through small subs. Amateur radio, collectibles, baseball cards, shit like that. Small subs there are awesome. The big ones are toxic tho, no question about that.

They just see an easy target in this weak woman so they attack her, so they can feel better about themselves. It's just like the vaxxers who call everyone that does not get vaxxed crazy or hope they'll die, because deep down they are not very secure about their decision...

I used to have a personal Reddit account where I'd give people advice in some niches that I was working in, but I just got sick and tired of all the comments being some sarcastic variant of "you do know that that's XYZ, right?" "lol that's bs troll" etc etc - - in response to actual, actionable information. It feels like most users are just on the platform to tear down anything useful or productive.

Months ago the Mods over at Warrior Forum were calling people "Cowards hiding in their basements" during lockdown they just wanted everything to be open like normal...the one in particular who made that comment caught COVID. I stopped by there yesterday and now they all sharing their experiences getting vaxed. :)
