Something that ticks me off

And that is why I share. If everyone quits sharing because it's underappreciated or because people would rather flame you before trying whatever you are trying to help them with...then this place could go downhill fast.

I've noticed not as many methods being shared lately, and I think it's because people are afraid of sharing due to the crap people post in return.

I've got a simple solution to this. If they don't want what I'm trying to share, then quit reading. No one is forcing them to keep reading free shared methods.

I think that if people rise above the negativity then it will inspire more people to share methods. More methods=more money for people here. More money equals more methods/help potentially shared. It can be a beautiful cycle. Just my $.02 .

I love your idealist attitude. Unfortunately, most people do not view the world the way you do. It would be nice to live in a perfect world, but we do not.

The sad reality of it is, 90% of the people in the word are:

Selfish, greedy, ungrateful, hateful, self-centered, self-serving, assholes.

Why would I share my golden nuggets with this? I share, but only with people who deserve it.

yea its pretty bad, not to thank after getting the freebie.

Infact I've seen people asking for review copies and after they get their free copies, they don't even care to respond and leave a review.

Personally, I try to rep or thank the OP whenever I get some freebies.. this is not only good business practice but speaks about your "Manners"

see this is where I think it goes wrong, adding a post just to say thank you is pretty worthless to the thread, just hit the thanks button if its a thanks you want to give, thats why it is there

The least I can do is thank and rep someone.I'm in a place where I'm starting to make some money on a regular basis and it's all thanks to the shares and advice from people on this forum.I'm on a way to a financial freedom in a country that is in an economical turmoil.

I think that most of the people who don't appreciate these awesome shares are oblivious to what they can do for them with a little testing and god forbid some work.

I completely agree with this thread, even though I haven't shared anything myself.

Here's something else I noticed: If you were giving away something, for example a free domain, some of the people who are begging for it are newbies from over a year ago, with less than 5 posts and only 0-3 thanks given.

Now I'm not exactly hating on them since I myself have been a newbie until recently, but is really the only time they come out on the forum to say something is when they want a freebie?

A little thanks would be nice, whether hitting the button, giving reps, and/or posting it on the thread, people should at least show their gratitude.

I do try to show my gratitude whenever I can, and I'm glad to do so. I hope to one day give back to this community, and can only ask people to show their appreciation if/when I do.

Bothers me too. Doesn't happen all the time but most of the
time people would rather thank the guy who makes their favorite
comment about what was shared instead of the OP.

Well yeah, there are always going to be people like that everywhere you go. I remember several years ago, I used to be customer service at JC Penney. They would have a few promotions a year that if you spent $50, you'd save $10. Sometimes I'd have someone who only literally spent $49.99 and I wanted to help them, so I'd go out of my way to tell them, show them the cheapest things in the store and help them save while essentially getting what I offered them for free. Half the time the person wouldn't thank me. I wasn't doing it for thanks really. I was doing it because I'm not the type of person that can sit back and watch someone underachieve just because I stood by and didn't say anything.

I personally feel that if 1/10th of the people I'm helping here appreciate it, then it's worth it to me. If only one person can benefit from me taking a little time to learn methods to share, then it's worth it to me. I posted one method about a month ago, and said what I thought it would do: "It *should* help you make your first dollar online." Realistic, no? Still had people raising doubts, etc. All that work was justified when one person got pissed off with what people in the thread were saying and he pointed out that he made $111 with the method. (Which is funny, because even I didn't do that good with it. )

I guess what I'm trying to say is if one person gets helped out of the time you've spent, then I feel it's well-justified. You're never going to be able to please everyone, every time. That applies to BHW, or anywhere in life. But I do still feel that if you are willing to help/inspire someone, it will eventually pay itself forward.

Since I'm not even talking about the point of this thread (thanking people), I will try to to end with this being on topic. Most of the time when someone is sharing something, I thank them for it. Not because I made anything off it...hell, 3/4 of the time I don't even try what they are doing. I just appreciate that the person was willing to take the time to try and help people. I'm pretty sure that's the way a lot of people here are. I got thanks from people on the previous method that I'm sure didn't do all that work trying to make their first dollar online. A lot of people here thank for none other than you tried to help someone.

I know exactly how you feel Greg. And I'm not just talking about giveaways here on BHW. I just hate people who don't say thank you; really ticks me off. But I guess I can't blame them completely; seems like their parents didn't teach them manners and how to respect others from a young age.

Things as simple as saying thank you to someone who holds the door for you go a LONG way. Can't tell you how many times I've held the door for someone, only to have them walk right in and not even say thank you. Pisses me off big time.

But hey, it's not a perfect world. Best thing we can do is spot those people, and not associate ourselves with them. I don't associate with people who can't even say a simple thank you. Really tells you a lot about their personality and values.
